Why Did You Actually Join Wynncraft?

Why did you join Wynncraft? No actually, what got you to type in that IP and press play?

For me, it was a very convincing friend, who decided the next server we were gonna play on together was Wynncraft, since he was an avid CraftedMovie fan. But what about you?

Tell us your story, how were you convinced to play and what made you stay?

Well basically allready a few years ago, when the texturepack wasn't a thing yet, me and my brother used to play on the same minecraft account and pc, so he joined then and I obviously joined to, the only difference I'm still here or more so here again from time to time and he isn't since he doesn't speak english all that much.
What got me to stay, well I didn't I'm on and off since like 6 years agao but now I'm totally invested into the whole community/forums VoicesOfWynn, Olinus Channelteam and what not.
But what got me to go back from time to time is that I get burned out from other games and then remember Wynncraft xD

Though you might ask why do I only have 58 hours played I don't I more so have 600h probably but when you delete a class it deletes the time played and I've deleted many classes.

 

In a couple of years, I'm going to build a time machine, and go back to the past to tell 13 year old me to start playing Wynn.

At least that's what that strange man in my room in the middle of the night told me in 2016

 

A friend of mine at the time wanted to try out the Server he had seen on someones stream afaik. So 3 of us started playing the server mostly not knowing what we were doing and not understanding english very well and over time they quit and I didn't. The reason I stayed: crippling addiction obv

 

i heard technoblade mention it in video which made me interested when a skyblock yter named FurballTheHammy (now retired) made a comparison on it, a few months later me and my friend were bored of playing hypickle and came over here to play. yay

 

About 2 years ago, Grian put an ad for it on his channel and I actually stayed on the server.

 

Saw my brother playing it almost 10 years ago (holy), thought it looked cool, asked for the IP and I joined.
And so I've remained a somewhat consistent Wynncraft player, even if there have been periods where I didn't play (half of them have been because I started a new Terraria playthrough, somehow) and periods where I played A LOT.

 

I first started playing back in the summer of 2020 because a friend recommended it. I was on and off a lot due to school work, and stopped playing for a couple months when I lost my old account, but then got a new computer and a new account. I've been playing it pretty consistently ever since, and have been making videos about it as well.

 

AntVenom mentioned wynncraft in a video back in 2014, and I thought it looked interesting, so I gave it a shot. I played semi actively for a couple weeks before stopping. Then at the end of summer 2020, I decided to give it another shot and have been playing with various levels activity ever since.

 

I joined wynncraft bc it was featured on essentials so I was like, "I'll give a shot." I will never regret that moment ever.

 

Most people joined wynncraft when hypixel skyblock was down from it being ddosed.
One of them was me and I don't regret it

Even though I hate hypixel skyblock now, I can give them a thank you for shutting their server down for 1 week xD

Also, the reason I still play it is because of guild wars and raids as well as festivals.

Was bored, searched "Minecraft mmorpg" on YouTube, saw InTheLittleWood's video, watched the rest of the videos, decided to try out the server, got hooked, became a fan

 

uh i got banned on hypixel for hacking and exploiting and stuff like that

so i started playing wynncraft (i have not cheated yet)

 

grian made a (now privated) video of him playing earlygame wynn with some friends like 7 years ago now and i thought it looked really impressive so i gave it a try

The friends who introduced me to Wynncraft stopped playing, but I'm still here thanks to the spell system and most of all, class building.

Of course, the builds, music, and quests are all great too, and my experience wouldn't be the same without them.

 

My brother introduced me to it just like he did with other servers. I don't actually remember what he said or did to get me to play it too, but I began playing sometime in December 2013. I played it until around 2015-ish when I stopped logging in. I still played MC but just didn't log onto Wynn that much. No reason for it either, I just lost interest.

I don't remember when I started to play Wynn again but it was mostly likely during 2017 (because that's when I created my forum account) and I've been playing on and off since then. It's weird to think that I'm an old player because I really don't feel like it. I missed so much but it doesn't really matter because I love the stuff I'm here for.

 

Before the days of me playing Wynncraft, the Minecraft Massively Multiplayed Online Role Playing Game, I was a player of hypickle skyblock. I was also a forums user there (fun fact btw, my first post there was a thread for people donating glitched items and that got downvoted to oblivion to the point where I started to encourage people to downvote it. I was a naive kid, and I got exposed first hand to the sheer toxicity of the skyblock community, but I'm getting off topic) and on the forums, Wynncraft was brought up often. I didn't really start playing it until TommyInnit made a video on it, and I decided to check it out as a Mage. I got bored after I hit level 10, and took a 2 month break from that. Eventually, however, due to Summer and me not having to do anything all that time, I started to get back into Wynncraft again. Over time, I played Skyblock less and Wynncraft more, but where it peaked was when the Dwarven Mines update came out for Skyblock, I had an epitome: all Skyblock updates are basically the same exact thing: introduce a new gameplay mechanic that is meant to be the meta for grinding, and then grind, have your previous build obliterated by power creep, and if you couldn't capitalize on anything effectively, then you stayed poor. Wynncraft, on the other hand, didn't really need you to be in the top 1% of the economy to actually enjoy the game, and all the updates were pretty different from each other. Gavel Reborn was my first update I actually played, and I lost my marbles playing through it and seeing all the new content. Time passes and I pretty much never log on to Skyblock.

 

I was into modpacks back then,I love watching Modpack videos on youtube (bc I dont have gud PC).
one day this modpack youtuber stream Wynncraft, at first I think it's jut a little server with boring combat and small map, I went to this website just to see and HOLY GROOK! this server is cool. I dont own an account back then and I buy it just for Wynncraft

 

I read about it in a book about Minecraft servers a long time ago and remembered the name. Then I got bored of playing Hypixel so I tried it out.
