Grinding Spots for Combat Level 56 and onwards

I've been grinding a bit, in the Ember/Herb Cave in Trom and places like that, but the mobs give barely any xp, the (mini?) boss there only gives me 2.4% maximum. Am I doing something wrong coz it takes me like a half hour to level up there or is it just a bad spot? Any help appreciated :)

 

If it's your first playthrough you should do quests

Otherwise, Herb Cave is where most players would suggest you go at level. Onwards, there's a cave in Dernel with mimics and envoy mobs, waterfall cave in Cinfras County, and Scrapyard in Corkus

 

Yeah I've been alternating between the Herb Cave and the cave on the Volcanic Isles but I still only get 300~500 xp which is in the 0.4%~ of the xp I need, and it takes like half an hour to level up there. Is that normal?

 

Are you grinding with a totem/party/dxp?

 

If you're a shaman defiled cave (cave with mimics and stuff in Dernel) is very fast and easy to grind with acolyte and Hymn of Hate
Otherwise just stick to herb cave and move to waterfall at around level 70-80 (you should do some of the 70-80 quests anyway, like Wynnexcavation Site D, ROL 4 and 5, The Ultimate Weapon, Tower of Ascension, etc.)

 

no, what's a totem and how do I get it? I haven't logged on in like 2 years so I'm still tryna keep up
