Assassin/Ninja Help How play game?

So I started a new game as assassin some years back and just came back to it and have no idea how to play this game. Could someone please enlighten me on how mechanics and such work?

 

Level up to get Skill tree points. Do quests to level up or just like grind parties(I recommend quests personally). Anyways, there is a skill tree and archetypes now(3 of them).
Shadestepper(Left side of skill tree): most like pre 2.0 assassin with more abilities.
Trickster(Middle of skill tree): you can get clones who tank damage for you and also mimic your spells.
Acrobat:(Right side of skill tree): Movement based attacks that make you stay airborne(does not have vanish usually)

*Note: Vanish now has a 5 second cooldown and does not give damage or speed buff by default, it is a unlock on the skill tree on left side.

I personally am planning to play more trickster in the coming days as its gonna get a rework and buff.

 

Main Progression: Well if you want my way is well just play the quest which has really good story and somewhat weird yet funny and also grinding mobs with party in /pfinder command for easy level up your combat which the green exp bar at the hotbar.

Assassin combat and how combat works: for the assassin class there are 3 different archetypes which each point can be combined for better combo and depends on your playstyles and there’s skill points where you have to add it to any of your skills each time you level up combat because it’s important and can be remove if you messed up or want to respec the points and that’s basically it for combat

Items: at early to somewhat lvl 99 not 100 you can use any type of items and you want as long the combat req is up to date with your combat lvl for better damage and defense but when you hit lvl 100 you can come to forums for some good builda if you got confuse with it and want the community suggestion some can be easy to get and some might need to do work but it should worth it.

other progression: you can see other progression when opening the ‘compass’ which call profession. It’s an optional thing and can be a bit grindy but if you like that go ahead because it allows you to make your own weapon using custom ingredients tou can found by buying or killing mobs.
