Community Event Wynncraft Chess Tournament

So after some discussion in the Wynncraft Discord, I have decided to organize a chess tournament on January 7th, this Saturday. The tournament will be a knockout bracket with an initial 16le prize for the winner of the tournament. Time control will be blitz 5+0

If there is positive interest shown from the poll about wanting a higher prize pool, I will edit and add. The tournament will take place on Lichess or Chess.com, whichever your opponent and you prefer.

If you are interested in participating please DM Panderift#8426 on discord with your Lichess/Chess.com Profile, IGN, and Time zone and I will add you to the bracket.

I will make the brackets based on ELO and time zones so it is the most fair for everyone, Thank You

 

I don't mind paying a bit to contribute to the price pool but this is a chess tournament and I suck at it lmao

e4, d5, knight f3, take e4, knight g5, knight f6, d3, take d3, bishop takes d3, h6, knight f7, king takes f7, bishop g6, king takes g6, launch icbm (or anti tank guided missile if you are new to chess)

 

I am really bad at chess, so I might as well have proof to back up my claim.

Around what time on January 7th will this be? I would love to participate (I love chess) but my schedule isn’t the most open.

 

Its mostly casual and may even go into Sunday. Ill publish the bracket sometime on Friday with discords. You can then message your opponent when you are free to play the match. It is very loosely structured to allow for more people with inflexible schedules to play. If an issue arises with scheduling with your opponent let me know.

 

I cant use discord atm but is there any way I could still participate in the tournament?
