Why do you only get the "left click" items when tick-skipping while gathering?

?

Does tick-skipping make things harder for you when you are trying to gather "right-click" materials?

    Background:
So, there is this thing called tick-skipping, where if you are facing another gathering node while harvesting a nearby node, you will automatically start harvesting the new node once the old node is harvested without having to click again.

However, if I right-click on the first node to harvest meat from a fish node for example, when I then tick skip the second node it will give me oil as if I had left-clicked the node.

    Question:
My question is, why doesn't the game treat a tick-skip as a right-click if you originally used a right-click to harvest the first node? And does anyone know how difficult it would be to implement this functionality? It is pretty annoying when I am fishing for meat and have to purposefully not look directly at the next node until the previous node has been harvested so I don't accidentally harvest oil instead with a tick-skip.

  2. i am rather doubtful that tick skipping was ever intentionally implemented in the first place, and if that's the case it would be difficult and probably not something the devs would want to add anyway

speculation only: i'd guess tick skipping exists because of a weird interaction with gathering nodes and the way wynn will "force" swing your tool while gathering. swinging is a left-click action so tick skipping can only come from that left-click input
