Warrior/Knight Help Thrundacrack battle monk

I was planning to wait and save a little longer, but a decent Thrundacrack came up at a price where it is worth trying; likely to make a little profit if I decide i don't like it.

This is not a great build; it's an Infidel build that it drops into with points adjusted and pretty readily proves it is a major upgrade. It does have one substitution - the Suppression ring because I was a point off from using Diamond Solar, which would have kicked in more hp and quicker regen. There's actually a lot to like about the build; okay regen, which isn't easy with Thrundacrack, decent mr and reasonable hp and ehp. Definitely no tank. One thing to not like much at all is what Hetusol does to thunder damage, but it does so many good things that it is difficult to replace. But this really isn't optimized for Thrundacrack.

Short road tests in SE indicate it has good power, but not quite as much defense as I hoped. It's not glassy, but in some mostly purposeful contact with mobs, I took a little more damage than I expected. Power is pretty subjective, but pretty sure some stuff has crossed the boundary from 2 spells to just 1 t take them out.

Open to suggestions.

Hetusol with Thrundacrack is a crime

- I dropped Radiance since you didn't have any bash boosts nor Generalist (mana is quite tight - I'm not even sure the following build sustains).
- Dropped any health regen (including Contrast for Anima-Infused Cuirass since it's basically Aquarius at half the intelligence cost) for Rally from Infernal Impulse
- Stardew can be replaced with Pro Tempore.
- Suppression instead of Summa is fine.
- Tenuto for super slow: mana steal proc + powder charge in less clicks.
- Sparkweaver usually better than Cancer as EHP helmet for thunder mythics.
- Diamond Static Bracelet is up there with the highest damage accessories in the game if not THE highest. Can be replaced with pretty much anything though (like Dragon's Eye Bracelet or Remikas' Authority).

EDIT: your build is by no means bad! I also forgot to mention - since you have Mantle of the Bovemists - was further justification for dropping the base EHP so much.

 

Your link doesn't work for me. Seems to be happening a lot with the changes for the last release.

A guild member suggested Infernal Impulse, but didn't give me a full build around it. I have gotten rather addicted to hpr and even tried a build with Diamond Solar Ring swapped in for Suppression, but that was for a fairly specific circumstance - running caves and chests between them (not "pure" loot running) carrying a charm that increased my damage 32% in exchange for a 31% loot bonus. So I was more concerned about surviving gauntlets than winning battles.

Will have to do some price shopping, testing and thinking, though just the short amount of testing I have done is encouraging enough to think Thrundacrack is a good way to go. It and Convergence are my short list. I should look closer at the tree (wish I could see what you are suggesting); I don't think I actually have it right in what I posted as I used an existing build as the base for that and I have had to rework the tree since then.

I took a stab at your list with Pro Tempore swapped in and skill points an abilities adjusted. I really hate the the negative hpr, but it might make sense and I can probably find a hot swap item for walking around, waiting, etc. Just have to remember to swap back in advance of action. One nice thing about the build is there is much a todo list as shopping list; swap out one of my Contrasts, revisit LI for the bracelet, and make some more attempts at getting Summa (I am 7-0 in Geyser Pit, but keep getting the spear or leggings). The big one is beating the fire boss again twice. Some real angst there as I only have one fire item as one of my classes lost a piece on disconnect and not sure I want to give up Clockwork for some other builds it gets used in. I might try plugging in some alternatives. Good Tenutos aren't cheap, but Infernal Impulse isn't bad.

Broke down and got a crafted helmet due to mana concerns and best alternative I found (Neuron) being too glassy. Ornate Shadow Cowl also works but has no mr. Both hot swap. Crafted has 211 durability.
Alternate helmets I have tried (and still have; they hot swap): Ornate Shadow Cowl (bad mr), Neuron (glassy). Might still carry one for when I am not too worried about early stuff and want to save durability (211) for boss fight. Would like to get some hp and maybe more defense out of necklace as that is 7/5s mr that I might be okay without after getting the helmet. Hard with points like they are. Bronze Basic (which I have) works for 500 hp, but seems a waste as it doesn't really do anything else very useful. Need to do LI again; can't do more than Silver Solar though (points). I got the Diamond Solar Ring when I went all the way through.

OK, so this is what I am happiest with. A few successful tna runs as well as some other general use. Need pots in tna, but will recover in a lot of less difficult areas. Put that helmet back out on tm for what i paid while I considered options and it sold pretty quickly, which made it easier to decide it might not be optimal without trying to justify the purchase.
