Do attack speed bonuses affect spell damage?

Do positive/negative attack speed bonuses affect spell damage? Or can i ignore them when going for spell builds

Like Leafish said, Attack Speed doesn't affect spell damage.

If you want to know what it does affect, I can quickly explain. Attack speed, well, obviously increases/decreases the weapon's attack speed, but it also has another effect- it changes the chances of a hit on a monster enabling certain things. These things are Mana Steal, Life Steal, and Powder Specials. The higher the attack speed, the less chance these have to trigger, but the lower it is, the bigger chance these things have to trigger.

Attack speed affecting stealing chances is no longer the case since 2.0. Both mana and life steal proc every time you hit an enemy, and only the amount you receive is dependent on attack speed. The slower your weapon, the more health or mana you receive.
