Fatal Friendly Fire

ive recently started a UIM-account because i enjoy a challenge or two. ive died three times, every single time has been to some random guard who decided to shoot me. i have lost literal days of progress by just trying to enter a town. can someone please explain who in the thrice-damned hells thought it was a good idea to allow npc's to unprovoked kill players?
there's one thing to die because you went somewhere too high level; and there is one thing to get killed trying to enter a town half your combat level. for normal accounts this is an inconvenience; for UIM's its a fucking nightmare-
UIM's cant store items anywhere and hence every time you die ALL of your items get put through the flames of Tartarus.
i had full soul-points yet i lost:
-half my emeralds(16 blocks)
-70% of my resources(including every 3-star)
-3/4 armour pieces
-2/4 tools
(yes i am aware that UIM's lose more items on death)
how is that a fair price for poorly coded NPC's? i don't have anything against hard game design, but this is outright terrible game design.

and yes, this is a rant, because progress i just spent days working on got fucking deleted due to factors outside of my control.

if anyone can find a single good reason why this scenario should be able to happen i will personally gift you HERO rank.
if there are any admins or dev's reading this then i am utmost curious as to your reasoning :)

which guards are you dying to? i know that the emerald trail ones are pretty bad but that’s rather low level

the ternaves ones are also not awesome

 

I have died WAY to many times to Pigman Village guards. I go up so I don’t get harassed by pigmen when BOOM! Dead.

On the main topic of this post tho, yeah blue named ranged mobs being able to damage people is probably a bug or an oversight. It would actually be very surprising if this was intended.

 

You know what it would mean if it was intentional?

It would mean you wouldn't be on the same side as everyone else!
You would be an Enemy to not only the general mobs but to the rest of civilization as well!
Think of the possibilities!
