This doesn't even feel like a minecraft server anymore... the writing here is much better than what I've seen previously.
I'm pretty much going blind into 2.0 so I don't know if this Clight person even appeared in the game, but I can tell you from a fact that he's evil. I'm sorry, who the hell names their child ""Clight""???? I don't care what excuse there is, nobody with a name like that can be a normal and functional member of society.

 

Clight is the head miner in the quest and is an important character
It sounds to me like he pushed this unnamed character into the pit so he could take control and do what's right, but felt bad about doing so
This character was unwilling to deal with the colossus and wanted to keep the status quo, which would eventually lead Thesead to its doom if not stopped

 

Still, if he's not the second coming of Satan he has to be near

The author's name is not completely unknown. I'll leave you to figure it out.

 

Cuz I didn't get online yet to experience 2.0 on the main servers, Samsam did see something in the chat logs, which was basically this:

So my headcanon is the guy who wrote that is Grenot (the old starter NPC for Canary Calls before 2.0), and some of the feelings he left on the pages made the feelings of your canary, spiting the world and Thesead.

You don't think it pained him to kill his friend? Clight's not a bad guy, if you take into account everything else he's done. The author acknowledges that he is a respectable man, a generous man, a man who will do great things. He is merely acting for the greater good.

Clight is not wrong that the Colossus poses imminent danger to Thesead. The author was letting Thesead's end, maybe avoidable, maybe not, draw nearer, doing nothing and standing idle. And you don't think the author was the one being unreasonable in their judgement while writing the book? Their mind is warped by the influences of the gas. Would you say that it is right and just to create, quoting the text, "Yes... The endless now. Thesead, in stasis, forever frozen in time. Miners forever working to maintain the status quo. As it...should be"? To "destroy Thesead"?

And then, maybe Clight didn't even push the author off. "It feels as if my memory and thinking spells are incredibly clouded." How can you be so sure that the author didn't misremember the event, given that his mind was under the influence of the gas? Maybe he lost his footing and fell on accident. Clight might have never said what the author claims he did; again, maybe it was just the gas.

You have to take into account the fact that this text is supposed to be written by a person who has gone mad, yeah?

also i don't think a literal false fact would be written into a journal. maybe when we play breaking point it'll be more clear since clight wanted the colossus to be stopped
