You fade back into the tranquility of darkness.

The room is comfortable. Almost too comfortable. You want to drift back to darkness.

Era disappears from sight until you look by Aberion’s shoulder. Leaning into his ear she says,

“Talking to yourself is the first stage of insanity.” She winks and shoots a smile at Aphoria before reappearing in her previous location. “If you want to know what happened, the Dragonborn and Dwarves sent some people after me. It seems they’ve a bit more intel than I previously imagined. Anyways, I should probably brief you a bit more in-depth on what we’re going to do. There’s someone currently in captivity to who I owe a favor to. He’s being held captive on the island of Valra, a point of contention between those two races. The current controllers of the island, the dwarves, are holding him in an underground passage on the northern end of the island. The plan is pretty simple. Get in, get the captive, and get out. As long as we don’t run into the Viper or the Pheonix, there shouldn’t be much trouble.”

As she finishes her explanation, a loud BOOM echos behind you from Ayliv.

“What in Aer’s name?” she curses.

The sky is slightly cloudy. It is late morning.

(OOC This is your GM speaking, if anyone running any type of roleplay hints at an enemy you are trying to avoid, you are 100% going to run into that enemy. That’s all, enjoy roleplaying through this! Don’t ask I need more humor in my life.)

You wake at your usual time, walk down the hall of your section of the palace to your office, and begin sorting through the stacks of paper in your office. Suddenly, a crack of lightning strikes in the distance, and a loud BOOM echos through the palace.

A maid wakes the two of you later in the morning. Without much to do, Whisper convinces you to explore the rooms of the palace with her. Excitedly, she runs through the hallways at the scolding of a few maids and others in the palace halls. Just as the rounds a distant corner, a loud BOOM echos through the palace.

I follow after Whisper and investigate, summoning an ice glaive.

You stand up and swiftly walk towards the front of the palace when you find Frost heading in a similar direction.
@DungeonBee Frost + Whisper:
The sound comes from behind you, but it doesn't seem to originate within the palace. You head in the direction of the boom, but after walking a hundred or so steps, you realize Whisper isn't following you (she was running ahead of you). Just as you turn to look for her, you run into Elduin.

You will yourself not to drift back, not to embrace the darkness, and wake to the sight of a sleek vizor over your eyes. Transparent, it tints the medical-like room around you in a shade of blue. You slip the vizor off as an attendant standing next to you, pointed takings notes from a few monitors in front of him, asks you, "Anything seem particularly out of place about that scene?"
You think for a moment. Your memories from before slipping the vizor on are hazy. But, you manage to recall what you were here for: A secret program designed by the Monarchy to develop virtual and augmented realities. You instinctively reach to a small capsule next to you, and put on the two contacts inside of them. That world inside the vizor seemed impossibly real. Not a speck was out of place. A shiver runs down your spine.
"Come on Cano," the attendant, who you now remember by his callsign: Stable, says, "there's no time to waste. Was there anything out of the ordinary?"
(OOC [out of character meaning not descriptions or dialogue from the story] from here do whatever you want, as long as it's within reason based on power level and etc. Do note however that humans are regarded as the weakest race with their lack or innate powers.)
