From what I'm getting at here, the Assassin class really requires specific rng drops in order to play successfully, and even in casual play is lacking in fun and rewarding features.
To trigger it's added affect of backstab you need to use your brain and actually hit the back of a mob, wherever that is, and that can be quite hard.
Most of what is the issue is that the concept is there, but isn't really as fleshed out as it could be. Cooldowns are a big issue, as you need to keep track of those as well as maintain focus on not dying, leading to situations where you have no abilities left to use in order to survive or do
anything interesting due to either lacking enough mana or cooldowns not being up.

TLDR: You need to think and use your brain to play assassin, and it isn't even really rewarding if you do so.
