    It's a helmet skin but I guess the resource pack is broken for you.

    I have no idea how to fix that.

    If you are seeing diamond pickaxes, as said above, you must have a non functioning resource pack. You should check that you have resource packs enabled, which can be done by going to the multiplayer page, hitting add server then typing the IP address, and then making sure you have the pack on enabled
