was walking through the Guild Hall from the airbase, heading to Cinfras proper and this little tidbit came up

the mushroom seems to imply that the Guild Hall and Eldritch Outlook (among others not mentioned) are related
anyone have any thoughts?

 

probably an inside joke about EO architecture being everywhere

To elaborate, since 2021 there’s been some criticism of recent builds due to their color scheme and design resembling the eldritch outlook, and Cinfras and the guild hall is brought up a lot when talking about “EO style” which this dialogue is a reference to.

The guild hall is actually the centerpoint from where the decay came from but it has been kept a secret because gavel's prime minister got illicit substances from the black market that lies in that very own guild hall
Lari is actually in charge of the elf mafia and kills anyone who tries to find out about the truth, leaving no trace. This is because elves get their mushrooms and White Powder VI from the black market too, and they have stablished a network of connections between them and gavel's government
The talking mushroom just so happens to have fallen from one of the stashes that was sent to bribe gavel's prime minister. The talking mushroom knows the truth because he overheard it one day, and he was about to tell the player until he shoved him into his satchel
This is actually because before the player forgot his life in fruma he actually worked for the fruman mafia, which also happens to have connections to the elf mafia. His instinct of silencing the mushroom was just a reflex from when he had to kill innocent citizens so that he could have enough to buy bread for his family
