Community Event Nostalgia thread: tell us a wynn memory that gives you nostalgia

Musics on wynn are a major part of the atmosphere, this is a great addition.

xd for some reason its coming home tired at 6pm and doing kingdom of sand in my room with the wynn music on

I remember back then when you had to pull the bow all the way back to fire arrows as Archer

and also when Mages kept teleporting themselves into the hourglass tower in Detlas for fun. RIP hourglass will always miss u

 

I remember when I couldnt find way to get to thanos

I watched like 4 videos, and eventually just /killed when the base was under me

 

It was 2013 or 2014, I somehow got lost in the Nesaak forest trying to reach the village. I was a bit low leveled, and it was not very easy to fend off the wolves. I got exhausted by the lack of hunger and health, I searched for a safe place to rest. And then I found an igloo with a campfire in front of it. There were not many mobs spawning nearby, good place to take some rest. While restoring my health, suddenly the Icy steps music started playing. It was the first time i listened to this music and it impressed me. I decided to stay a little bit longer.

 

Well that's a solution lmao

Would be awesome to see the old detlas again, maybe in a quest or something

 

It's funny how the three most nostalgic things are apparently:
1. the music
2. getting lost
3. brainless grinding

for me it's the same except the grinding, because I've always hated grinding in games

that's probably also the reason why this took me like 2 years lol
(I'm still only halfway after 6 years how do people finish everything so quickly aaaah)

 

Being ~lv30 and having the update that brought WynnExacavation Site A quest appear overnight making me very confused why a sudden whole appeared in the desert. Also grinding that passage between Lusuco and Nessak to get to troms quests

Bro i only joined a year ago in 2021 and woincroift is literally the most nostalgic thing in my life.
The number one nostalgic thing is when I finally got to level 103 on my assassin which i barely did any quests on and went to level a mage before 2.0, i heard the emerald trail music and was like OH OH OH like lol.
also bob's quote, "Face me and earn your place among the soldiers of wynn" or smthing is sooo good.
lastly there is a cave full of crabs next to the coast, like you follow the path going past decripit sewers and you eventually find this cave with crabs and two chests. well anyway when me and my friend started wynncraft we didnt know how fun dungeons and quests could be so we just stabbed crabs there for half an hour till we did sewers and were like AAYYYY.

 

I joined after powders were temporarily removed and we still had armor skins, I was either 14 or 15 and I remember playing during the summer and opening my window, feeling the cold morning air as I explored nivla forest (I loved the music and it still makes me feel nostalgic), also old deltas and even old almuj make me nostalgic.

 

You can see it in flight in distress but only briefly

 

I remember one just gathering a bunch of people in Detlas and we ended up just forming a tower of about ~10-15 people total. This was back when VIPs could ride on other players, even got a few screenshots of it *somewhere* on my computer. Might take a while to find, though.

 

I remember when blue powder used to add knockback to weapons, and this applied to spells. For this reason, I always had some depressing shears on me with kb 2 so that if I ever used multihit on something, it would cease to exist almost immediately after I cast the spell.

 

Every now and then I get Vietnam flashbacks of blue mask being an actual blue mask (RIP custom armor textures, you will be missed)

 

Getting banned in 2014 because I, a 9 year old at the time, didn't realize I had just joined a group of people committing crimes (glitching through the walls in the Silverfish Dungeon using a horse, allowing us to skip basically the entirety of the dungeon. I leveled up from 30 to 50 using that glitch, but at what cost...?).

Grinding Bob and CoW 20 times back in 2014 too so that whenever I did a new playthrough in the other classes, I didn't need to fight him. It has actually saved me having to go through the fights whenever I didn't want to since.

Swarms. They were laggy yes. They were a mess yes. But they were still super cool.

Starting a guild for fun, doing half of the war effort during the glitchy era (2016-2017), getting bored and then seeing it eventually evolve through Diamond Deities into what today is Lux Nova (shoutout to them even though I'm no longer a member because I don't care about guilds anymore)

The only archer class at level 105 I currently own was created in august 2013. It was my first class and the only from the pre-gavel era I still keep around.

When armor sets had color. I will keep occasionally campaigning in favour of fixing this forever.

Losing my level 30 pre-gavel chestnut horse to a goddamn hopper accidentally.

 

A bit after Gavel released, my mage in was the Llevigar plains. I saw some manner of Greenskin and hit it, and the mob AI made it run off (straight into its camp). I approach and am suddenly swarmed by an entire camp's worth of mobs. The dude I was fighting seemed to have went back and called for reinforcements. The moment was utter magic.


Questwise, Lord of the Clock will forever hold a special place in my heart. That descent into Mt. Wynn had a grandness to it that Arachnid's Ascent has just never matched.
I think it was just the sheer length - no portals, just a brutal climb up the mountain before fighting your way down towards the Magma chamber. That, plus the amount of time it took to get to Mt. Wynn in the first place. It might have just been the LotR homage, but Lord of the Clock had an insanely epic scope for such a low-level quest, and was probably the thing that made me fall in love with Wynn for the first time.
I'll forever be saddened by its removal, though Misadventure on the Sea is probably an even better nostalgia-maker for newer players.

 

I being really confused with starting "A Tunnel Trouble" looking at the videos and at the videos they talking with a NPC next to the tunnel and I doing it but nothing happening.

The reason the quest wasn't starting was because I was at the Tunnel at Ragni, not the one in Detlas...
