is there a way to reduce\remove a tempban after i changed my username?

i had a (slightly) offensive username and a mod (i think his name was Viridan or something) asked me to change it as soon as possible. i didnt know how soon i will be able to change it so i told him a month and got tempbanned for a month (31 days). 5 minutes later i discovered that i was able to change it but the tempban is still active.

is there a way to remove\reduce the tempban or address staff for help? i mean, tempban is usually required to make sure an account as fixed the problem and is safe again. but if i fixed it sooner, why cant the ban get lifted?

i know tempbans cant be appealed and this is why i ask here. if it cant be lifted at any cost, despite having my name changed, then theres really nothing to do except waiting for a month.
