Thoughts about Meteor mage without heal

    Hi, i have a "me" problem and i like to know if other players feel the same:

    In Wynn2.0 the Arcanist archetype gets locked from using heal and instead will be encouraged to pick up lifesteal with another trait. i really dont like this idea i played for 1200+ h and spend over 600 of these with my favourite build. rainbow meteor Mage. i like soloing Content, i like being versatile and i cant stand being locked out of heal.
    Of course you can just play another build but one transforms my meteor into turets and one and the other is a wind and TP centric playstile.
    Arcanists heal will cast other spells from the mana bank
    Riftwalker gets to keep heal and use its new spell by holding shift+heal

    I personaly wish for the Arcanist to receive the same treatment with the shift+heal to use the new spell .

    what do you guys think about this topic.

    Don't play arcanist if you want to keep your heal

    A huge majority of builds won't be viable in 2.0, that's rather expected from a major combat system revamp
    Arcanist don't gets to keep their heal because of mana bank and arcane transfer. Addition of heal to arcanist would make it superior over mage's other archetypes.
    This archetype is specifically not designed for people who wish to keep their heal and not worry about health potions.
    Now, I can't build mage in 2.0, but I can guarantee you that there will be arcanist builds with a good sustain

    Its not the specific builds, its the build styles, and i strongly believe you need to keep the same class feel within a game. look a games like league of legends, the popular reworks always
    kept the core concept alive while the unpopular reworks that kicked the majority of the player-base from the char changed the core concept

    As stated before: the Riftwalker gets a heal and a heal+shift. i dont see why this keeps an Arcanist from heal. he has enough that makes him special even without the heal removal.

    you can tweak other aspects of an archetype without robbing his core identity, of course you cant just slap heal back on and call it a day

    Im an avid build creator in various games and tend to be rather good in videogame math, still after quite some testing, in the current beta branch there is no build possibility that realy clicks with me. of course there will be ways i didn't think about, dozend or hundreds of ways but it dosent change my believe about "core class concept"

    Additionally i personally adapt slowly to major upheavals in a game and prefer to keep my main playstyle as an anchor, i dont want to be swept away again like in the transition from the 0.x to 1.x version. Thats an additional reason why i realy dont like that combination taken from me.
    5. why open with ffs... i know minecraft communities are unnecessarily toxic due to the vast amount of kids and teens, dont you think you can do better. instead of coursing you can try it with a smile and kind words ;)

    The other classes have gone without a heal spell since their inception, so in that sense it really shouldn't matter whether Arcanist does or doesn't have Heal. About the "mage should keep its core class concept" thing: I'm honestly not sure the classes themselves will still exist in 2.0. Every class is getting broken up into three different archetypes, so you could argue the five main "classes" and their core concepts are getting completely replaced by fifteen new classes. Two of those will still have Heal, all will still have access to health potions and all the health-related stats. As for if that's still fun, I don't know.

    I've been using ETF Monster and ETA Quetz on Wynncraft's main server for a while and I enjoy it a lot.

    Okay I know everyone is talking about just not using Arcanist, but both of these archetype descriptions are wrong. Ophanim isn’t a turret and Riftwalker is probably closer to the original mage playstyle than Arcanist and is not wind or TP focused; the damage boost is just called Winded.

    Here is how to keep a pretty similar class feel to 1.20 in 2.0 while also adding some extra perks:
    Take a little bit of arcanist to get burning sigil and stronger meteor. Then go down the rift walker tree to get wind slash and eye piercer. Branch off into light bender a little after bypassing the oraphim upgrade to get purification, fluid healing, and Orphion's pulse. These are pretty much all the abilities mage had in 1.20, and you still have plenty of ability points left over to pick up extra perks like thunderstorm, snake nest, time dilation, and explosive entrance, along with some "cheaper spell" upgrades.

    Yea your frustration is totally valid, what Id recommend is not actually specializing in anyone archetype and just grabbing the general buffs down the skill tree.

    Basically just do a mix and match of all the archetypes that way you get things like normal meteor, 3 pulse heal, 3 ice snakes, and regular teleport. You still can play "default" mage but you now do that through generalizing in the tree rather than specializing in any one archetype.

    I think just riftwalker only has 1 heal tick and 1 ice snake but ye i suppose the same principle still applies
