Wynn Recreation — Changing Servers and what it means for you
Hey everyone!

Recently, I discovered I could do something that I never thought was possible: convert my old code to being completely independent, on a minecraft server. What this means is that instead of having to jump through a bunch of hoops to play; you can now just connect to the IP given and it will do everything for you, just like joining regular Wynncraft!

However, I wanted to get some input from you guys, as this is a very large change. It will have good and bad consequences.

For one, development may be slowed and even halted temporarily to make up for this. This initial transfer will be slightly intensive on me and my team, as we will have to recode a lot of things from the ground up, and rebuild a lot of the structures. However, after that, the project will be able to increase in quality, and scale.

Secondly, I don’t have a proper domain for this yet, nor a proper server host (yet), so for the earlier times of this projects’ lifespan, you guys will have to connect through a different source until further notice. I will attach the instructions as necessary when the time arrives.

However, past these faults, this has major implications for us. For one, development may actually be sped up, as I can create a system similar to WynnScript for possible developers who want to contribute but don’t know Java. It will also allow us to massively increase our building space, maybe even letting us make open-world content at some point, and push the limits of what normally would be possible.

Internally, we’re on board with this decision but we want your guys’ opinion as well, so we can make sure this is universally a good idea. Let us know what you think!

TL;DR We can upgrade our systems to allow for more customization and possibilities, and greater QoL to the playerbase, but at the cost of development time and building time. It will also delay the project by quite a while if we do so.

Look no further! We’re the Wynncraft Recreation Team, aka extremely budget @Novalescent !

Recently, my friends and I (mostly me), have been attempting to recreate Wynncraft 2.0, specifically the archetypes and making brand new content for everyone to enjoy, aka coding an absolutely busted boss that murders you in three seconds.

Yep, totally enjoyable.

Jokes aside, we actually have some pretty cool content we can offer, such as:

• Custom Bosses
• New Items to test out
• Access to all archetypes at level 105
• Make your own builds for free, with a 67.582% accuracy of how they'd work ingame.
• Wynn PvP? Maybe? Probably not though, realistically, it’d be very difficult.

Just fill in this application, and if you have three braincells in your head and one minute of playtime, you’ll probably get accepted.

Roles

Programmers help make archetypes (aka Endistic) and actually create the new content for people to enjoy. They also code Major IDs. Programmers on the team will have the [Admin] or [GM] tag on the project.


Item Makers do 1 of 2 things, they both turn Wynncraft Items into usable items ingame, and make their own items to test out. Item Makers will have the tag [IM] on the project.

Builders help, well, build, what did you expect, it’s in the NAME. They build the map, boss arenas, the lobby, basically anything they feel looks lackluster. Builders will have the tag [Builder] on the project.


Moral Support People are here for Moral SupportTM. They are here to exist and nothing else, and are the playtesters of the game, so they basically just play and find bugs and stuff idk. (aka Enderae). Optionally, they can fill their name more accurately and give moral support to the team. When showcasing a boss or thing in a video, MSPs also have an oppurtunity to be in the video if they want! Moral Support People will have the [MSP] tag.


Concept Makers help create new ideas for everyone to make. They’re the backbone that makes sure ideas make sense, are balanced, and make their own ideas. They will have the tag [CM].

For now, applications are closed except for special roles.

Again, don’t think that having low results in these will mean an instant rejection! We want as many people as possible to help out, as this is a massive undertaking. Oh, and you don't have to come in daily. I probably won't need much help until it comes down to making items and areas for concepts.
If you get accepted, here's how each role can/will do it's job:

Builders: Just convo/message you guys asking to build a certain thing somewhere, take as much time as you need.
Item Makers: Whenever you feel like it, feel free to come on and either turn Wynn items into usuable items ingame, or make your own items!
Concept Makers: Nothing brash, just convo me your ideas if you have any.
Programmers: Same as the builders, but just coding something instead.
Moral Support People: Same as builders, but for playtesting.

Again, it's really casual so no worries if you can't contribute much. Any help at all would be appreciated due to the large scope of this project.

Well, but what exactly is this project?

 

basically recreating all wynncraft 2.0 archetypes (12.5/15 done), and then using that to make stuff like suggestions from forums, or our own ideas, and see how it would work ingame
and yes, after the playtestsr verify the new suggested and made content is good, it would be released for the whole wynn community to enjoy
tldr basically new fanmade wynn content for everyone

Great work besties, massive respect and props to everyone working on this project!

maybe the content team can even learn a thing or two from how u guys make the stuff, i think you should not only recreate wynncraft stuff but u should also add in some custom archetypes and redesign current ones to make them stand out after ur done with recreating the current archetypes.
