I think Wind Prison would either need a huge numbers increase to be very viable or it would need to have some function no other powder special has right now, like maybe being a temporary pet or something

Right now the only time I use it is if Pandemonium casts it :saltroll:

 

I am literally the only person who uses wind prison, apparently.

Personally, I can think of two ways that they could buff it. The first is making it similar to Satsujin, where the prison only breaks if you, the person casting it, uses a melee/spell attack with high enough damage to break it. (For those of you who’ve played Risk of Rain 2, think something like Kjaro’s Band). That way combos with it couldn’t be broken by other players, DoT spells, or poison ticks. If combined with making the damage bonus affect all damage rather than just air damage, and/or the ability to trap CCI mobs, I think it would be in a pretty good spot as a group CC spell that can also double as personal burst damage.

The second is reworking it outright so that the prison creates a zone that repeatedly damages enemies inside it and pulls mobs towards its center, which would give it an area denial/steal ID proc niche that other powder specials don’t currently fill.

 

You know the first time I used wind prison I thought: "damn, curse is like, a quadrillion times better than this."
And for whatever, reason, I never bothered to mention it.

 

Yes every time I used wind prison my pet would hit the prisoned mob and there goes the mob

 

i like how it says its a 600% damage boost but its actually only a 3x dmg boost cuz its additive and not multiplicative

 

wind prison would be cool if the mob was stuck unless you did a big hit to it for the duration
it would also be cool if it was used for mobility in some way (weird direction change? shrug)

 

I agree that wind prison is the worst powder special. A quick fix would be to change wind prison to do its own damage; like Quake and Chain Lightning, but also lower the damage values a bit.

 

I like how wind prison rewamps are just a quake rip off or just some weird mobilty thing

my twist is to make wind prison into tornado with an aoe of about 5 or 10 blocks and mobs in it get damaged 50% damage every 0.5 secs for 10 secs and it buffs air damage by 60% and increases walkspeed while in the tornado thing

also im not very good with numbers so someone give me better ranges cuz my percentages and numbers are weird

 

there is no way 1 in 10 people main wind prison wtf we need a bigger sample size

 

those people arethe same people who complain about a boss being too hard when they couldve not wasted time trying to wait for their attack cooldown to use windprison on a cci mob

ok but dont really see how u could activate wind prison while trying to kill a guy and even so wp is so weak u prolly wont die if u get hit

 

im actually fine with wind prison as it is now, i dont use powders for their specials, only for their damage and conversion. thats why thunder is my fav powder, i will put air6 on a weathered and the powder special doenst turn most people away if they want some good damage, also its the reason why ill never put any powder other than thunder on a cata

i 1000% know that curse/courage is way better but i put a6a6a6 on my weath and oly. i dont really think shifting mid-combat with high ws is fun and so i will even avoid it despite the 200% boost or whatever curse is. also meme factor

also i think i still have my quetz unpowdered. maybe i will do some w6w3a6a6 tomfoolery
