Rift Walker Spells - origin of the idea?

    I found this old thread pretty much by accident.

    "Durabilities" made the thread in 2019.

    He talks about a class idea: Time Guardian/Rift Walker

    His idea is a high risk, high reward class that gets stronger over time... maybe some spells he proposed are similar to those in the 2.0 update. Seems like this was the original base idea for the new mage archetype.

    All of the abilities there are very focused around a melee-style character that is simply empowered by magic, which is very much not how mage works. Seems entirely coincidental that someone happened to make up a name that was similar to something made 3 years later.

    Riftwalker has many abilities which are specifically geared towards melee or at the very least hybrid gameplay tho. For example, increasing melee damage and range, being able to apply winded on mobs by hitting them with your wand etc.

    Idk if that post really did inspire the archetype but I wouldn't rule it out so easily. Mage isn't so unidimensional anymore.

    i think it may be inspired by the concept of legs and also rifts
