SPOILER STUPID THEORY TIME!- WHAT IF The Queen of Fruma is “HER?”

“Her” as in the person Orphion says in Gavellian you need to stop at the end of the Nexus of Light; “She must be snuffed out. Her influence feeds this senseless war.”
I’ve thought this for a while now. She’s the first person that came to my head as soon as I translated and read those words. And I have TERRIBLE arguments! First of all, who else could it be? And…. okay, that’s my only argument. The idea sounds absolutely perfect to me, and gives so much more ties between Fruma and the rest of the game. IT'S JUST PERFECT! When Fruma comes out, your mission will be to journey into the province and kill the Queen because she’s serving Dern! IT’S DERN AND FRUMA ALL AT ONCE! HURRAY!
Ya know, I had this really weird idea that the Queen was the Dern Beast itself… and that honestly doesn't sound implausible to me at all, but I’ll spare ya’ll.

Listen, first thing is it could mean Lari but that is a meh :/, second, I ALSO HAD A THEORY ABOUT DERN AND FRUMA ATLEAST WORKING TOGETHER... and here's my theory: Fruma is endangering people by brainwashing them and sending them to wynn and also refuse to help fight the corruption ALONGSIDE wynn in a deal with dern beast so that dern doesnt attack / take over fruma... and that also makes a bit of sense since all we know about fruma rn is that its a very bad province, everyone is absolutely corrupt, they lock up / kill people who try to get close to fruma, THEY BRAINWASH PEOPLE SO THEY DONT REMEMBER WHAT IS HAPPENING INSIDE FRUMA... and yeah you get the point... in my opinion fruma is gonna be all about you trying to save the people who arent absolutely mad and insane from being killed / imprisoned / brainwashed and turned into soldiers

Edit: Actually imagine a quest inside fruma that requires completion of Forbidden Prison, where you are captured by guards and you are about to get locked up but you kill the guards that locked you up and then you are ONCE AGAIN trying to break out but this time you'll have to do everything you can to release the rest of the prisoners and set them free

 

In RoL IV and Orphion shows us the Planes of Influence in relation to the Plane of Physicality, Light is above Gavel, Corruption above Wynn, and Dark over ???, which I'm sure we all know is Fruma (because what other province would ot be?). So, along with all the other things mentioned above, it's almost definitive that Fruma has some working relation with Dern.

It's a part of Wynn though, or at least was. Between Gavel and Wynn though, provinces, it would be weird to name the ??? after part of a province.

 

Well, we don't really know if it actually corresponds to specific provinces or not. Besides, the literal portal to Dern is located in the SE.

okay, you got me with the portal thing. The one to the Light Realm in Gavel, Corruption in Wynn. . . .

The only thing really supporting my argument is the naming theme of Wynn and Gavel on the Physical Plane, which is hardly a theme at all. . . .

 

My brain hurts- imma forget 'bout this and keep telling myself ??? is Fruma and that the long-awaited province is on it's way HURRAY!

 

Well, if Black Papyrus can open portals, maybe they opened the one in SE, and the original portal to Dern is in Fruma.

Seriously though, as much as I'd love fruma to be the one pulling the strings, I don't think that's what orphion was referring to.
We will find out in the future I suppose, perhaps you will be at least semi-right then.

 

Counterargument for the theory:
We already have a ton of material for War of the Realms, while there are no (to my knowledge) connections with it to Fruma. On the other hand, Fruma has lots of potential on its own.

Though, one possibility of it being her, is that she is completely unrelated to WotR, but by defeating her you get an army/power/whatever that will help you.

Actually, before it was obfuscated it was SE, but then they though it would be too big spoiler for players.

 

Darkness is mentioned separately from "her". Orphion is basically saying "Well, you'll have to do something about darkness, but that's not the only thing at play in the war and the tipping of the scales"

There has to be a reason for going to Fruma. The main wynn story is all about the War of the Realms and going to Fruma for no reason would make no sense. You could argue that Corkus already disobeys this concept but I think Corkus' grand purpose is for us to use it to enter Fruma.

I also thought it could be the Dern beast, since I've often contemplated if the Dern Beast is female. There's some things that could point to it, such as the egg that was placed in dead island possibly being theirs. However, it says "feeds" meaning that it couldn't be the Dern Beast because the Dern Beast is a prime CONTENDER in the war of the realms, not a power source or something alike. The way I see it, the only person "She" could be is Fruma Queen or someone we haven't seen or heard of at all yet.

 

Not everything is related to WotR, Fruma could be very well a storyline about your origin or taking down evil monarchy.

 

Our player's entire goal is to take down the corruption, we never explicitly go to Gavel to look further into it but when we visit Gavel we do actually learn more about the corruption and how it works. I think the player's journey is basically all about the War of the Realms, though yes Fruma could be to explore their history further.
