Are you supposed to respawn in a safe area after dying?

I alt-tabbed and left for 10 minutes whilst in Efilim, and died like 20 times, losing pretty much all of my stuff. Was I supposed to respawn in a safer area or was I just stupid for logging out there.

 

You respawn at towns, but no towns are 100% safe. It's advised you do /class if you're going to go afk because mobs can always get in and kill you (and then you'll respawn in the town, and they'll kill you again)

Certain towns are not safe (prime example: Olux, less known example: where you just afked), it's more advised to /class when going afk or be in detlas

though some "safe" places aren't really that safe

 

I just fly up to the highest point in any city then afk

 

wynntils also has a feature where it /class for you, although I've never had the confidence to allow it to do its thing
