Proxy disconection and lost quest reward.

My first post on the forums, I have no idea what I could be doing wrong.
So I was doing (From the mountain) quest and right before claiming the rewards, I got something proxy disconnection something, so I didn't get the reward and the quest ended.
Is there a way to get that sweet sweet quest xp reward back?
I don't really mind, but is there a way to avoid that happening again or is there a way to claim the rewards?

I think I was on the last sentence or as soon as I shift clicked to end it I got proxy disconnection.
am in the same place where he is supposed to be when I first started the quest now he is no more rip

 

you might have received the rewards but didn't see the message cause of the disconnection, also there's like no way around it, just unfortunate if you lost the rewards like that

(check your quest book, is it marked as completed? If not, try going at least 50 blocks away from the npc and approach again)
