Wynncraft Poll - Puzzles in Wynn

I wanted to gauge people's opinions on puzzles in Wynncraft. Do you think they're too easy? too hard? Are there any puzzles in particular that you like, or don't like?

Any puzzles with rocks is a instant 10/10 in my stone tablets. Woo rocks.

 

Overall, they're easy, but the right kind of easy. Wynncraft isn't primarily a puzzle game. Making a puzzle too hard can slow a player's progression to a crawl during an otherwise engaging quest. One such puzzle is the sliding block puzzle during The Heart of Llevigar, or the connect-the-dots thing afterwards. An example of a much more fun puzzle is the mirror puzzle, which if I recall correctly is from one of the Aldorei Valley quests.

 

too hard, the biggest puzzle for me is the class that you select on your first gameplay?!?!?!?

they are easy, but I've experienced so many bugs when it comes to them, that it ends up becoming annoying to come across

 

i want more incredibly hard puzzles like some of the puzzles in ??? or some puzzles that are like zelda puzzles

 

puzzles do be pretty straightforward

 

Usually I'm too lazy so I look at the wiki for the answer so i can't really judge lol

 

Difficulty isn't as important so long as they're fun

 

I like Frost Bite's puzzles

 

I think they are a little easy, I just wish they were faster. Like Maiden in Distress (or whatever that quest is called)
If you know the crypt code, you can do it in 2 seconds which is great for replayability, but for stuff like in Desperate Metal where you have to move each individual tile around every single time it gets annoying and tedious

 

I liked the puzzle mini game thing in Eye of the Storm. But thats gone now sadly

 

The only puzzles that are memorable to me are the ones that are hard, so I don't have a good answer for this lmao

 

I'm the laziest person in the world about basically all the puzzles- my brain just shuts down and refuses to budge and it's all so frustrating. I usually play with my sister so either she figures it out for us or I go to the Wiki (and I'll admit that my sister usually just ends up on the wiki too. I have no idea what our deal is.)

 

I personally think that there should be a quest in wynncraft that is dedicated to having very hard puzzles. Like, twice as difficult as the desperate metal water maze puzzle and having multiple in one quest. Yes, I know Dwelling walls, Heart of Llevigar, Point of no Return, and ??? exist, but each of them has one problem.


Dwelling Walls is too easy to brute force

Heart of Llevigar is too easy

Point of no Return is very buggy and requires skill other than problem solving (I do not have skills other than problem solving)

??? is unsoloable (I have no friends because I unironically like the Heart of Llevigar piston puzzle)


I personally really like puzzles (especially those when you know what you have to do and have to find a solution.) If a puzzle is too easy, and the solution is immediately obvious, all it does is slow you down. Whereas difficult (not absurdly hard, difficult) puzzles, are actually fun and feel so good when you finally solve them.

 

Honestly my biggest problem with puzzles isn't their difficulty but how for a while a lot of them were just there in the middle of a quest with zero context to why they would be there, like that old sliding block puzzle from Acquiring Credentials or the memory puzzle in Hidden City. It's a lot better nowadays, but IMO there are still some, like the final puzzle in Lazarus Pit and lava puzzle in Frost Bite, that feel kind of out of place compared to the surroundings and could use some changes, either to the puzzle itself or the textures they use, to better match the environment

 

I feel the puzzles are fine difficulty wise. Sometimes they can be tricky, especially when I can’t figure out where to go, and I have to look at the wiki sometimes, but overall they aren’t that hard. I feel that, if any harder, they could make some ppl struggle a lot and not play, so this is good as it accommodates everyone

 

I hate that you’re right because I want harder puzzles

I enjoy the puzzle in the dojo quest where you use pressure plates to move your "key" around to the "lock".
