Out of date lore

these 2 go together quite well so ill arnser them together, by serve i dont mean under the control of, but shared goals, as i said in my last comment

so if darkness wants to exert its will on the human population and the corruption wants to destroy the humnas order (this is unconfirmed btw) then at least for now both the corruption and darkness have a shared goal of destroying the human armies and cities and so for now are working together which is best seen by Bak'al leading armies of corruption serving the darkness. this is also how the corruption is a indirect force of dern/darkness as its not fighting for the same reasons and may be of a different origin that is not intelligent enough to make a pact or deal, but for the moment does have aligned goal

correct, in fact it did for centuries but Bak'al has been able to significantly focus the corruptions forces to make them way more effective

again im not tring to say im right as to be honest the lore simply doesnt cover anything in enough detail to come to any conclusions all im tring to get at is that while it looks like the lore is contradicting itself and needs redo, i feel like there are so many gaps in things we simply dont know, that the current discrepancy's can be explained with more detail and may all be correct
where the lore really needs fixing is how you can do so many quests out of order, for me on a playthrough for example ive done all the realm of light quests so for me lari is in the portal and presumably in dern? but ive still not started the quest "Rise of the Quartron" where you are introduced to her and hence her apperence now when (achally if ig) i do the queest makes no sence.

 

Then use proper terms. Although you may mean it well, it is simply too misleading.

The Corruption has no "goal", since than would require a mind. There is no thinking, no will, just expanasion.

This is Bak'al and Dern "cooperation" (which is not cooperation but servitude, which is a big difference), not Corruption and Dern.

I suppose, but I personally would rather have a clear and coherent lore rather than random information being pieced together.

you can serve something without it being in control of you, in fact you can serve something without even being aware of doing it, so id say that it was the right term maybe there is a better term to make it more clear but this way of putting it certainly wasnt wrong

you dont need to be conscious to have a goal per say, irl most animals have a goal in life to reproduce and pass there genes down to the next generation but they certainly don't know this to them its just instinctual so again maybe not the clearest way to put it but i certianly would say that terms i used to describe it wasnt wrong

from the lore we have so far i dont think its cooperation and more serving (again the ultimate discovery in the silent expanse, the dern charector seemed to talk down very much on Bak'al and all in all this felt like more of a boss / underling relationship than that of 2 equals (as if they was heading 2 cooperating factions) so id certianly say Dern character is the boss of bak'al but there not enough info in the lore to take any concreate info here (especially as its only 1 short interaction)

Same i would too but we have what we have for the moment and all i was trying to say is that the inconsistency's can be explained over needing a rewrite
