Working on a resource pack that contains voiced Wynncraft dialog

Hello folks! This is my first thread here on the forums, and I already am requesting your help! I'm going to be working on a resource pack that will play voice lines during quests and some NPC dialog, mainly voices by the community. The reason why I came up with the idea of starting this project is so that hopefully players can have an easier time understanding the dialog in the server, especially if some of the players are either dyslexic or just have a hard time reading the dialog. It also makes the characters more lively and the quests more immersive, even during dialog cutscenes.

Now, I want to ask you all if you could help voice the many quests and NPC dialog of Wynncraft. You don't necessarily need perfect voice acting skills, and a poor microphone shouldn't be a major issue either. If you wanna help out, DM me on Discord. And before you say it's not possible... I found out that it's very possible.

Now, personally I don't think it's very good, but they've been working on it for quite a while now, and I wouldn't want you to potentially waste your time and energy on something that already exists. Have a good time over here ♥

 

So you mean the Voices of Wynn mod? Lol, you're a little over a year too late friend haha, we've finished all quests and most of the secret discoveries, we're just editing the voicelines so they all have the same volume and doing some quality control on early quests. We'll soon have a public release for the mod! Stay tuned for that :D

Still, it'd be neat to have suitable voices for each quest. I'm a beginning voice actor myself, and I usually do evil roles and some other kinds of roles for fun. So I don't know how the Voices of Wynn mod will turn out to be, but may I DM you on Discord or something like that if I have some criticism or tips on improvement?

 

Honestly, we're so deep into the project I don't think we need a beginner voice actor's tips, but I appreciate the sentiment :)

i agree entirely honestly, but as someone who is also in the project i Think a factor is the matter of time atm? bc theres a lot of npcs, theres a lot of different people - and only 1 person (kmaxi) doing the made coding afaik why? i really dont know

honestly they could just do line rerecords i hope they do a good chunk could be a lot better, including myself tbh after initial release after a break tho, so im not against the idea but im not a staff member there

 

That's a fair point, but I still believe we don't necessarily need feedback. Now there are some roles to be recast entirely, some have a really bad mic or downright a bad performance, but that's mainly up to the voice managers to judge, myself included (since I'm pretty much doing all of the editing for all of the voicelines lmfao, playing through all quests rn on a new profile).

TL;DR: no need feedback, need backup voice actor
