Community Event Let's get the Wynncraft logo on r/place!

As you may already be aware, Reddit has re-opened the r/place 1000x1000 pixel board. It's a canvas where anyone can place 1 pixel of a colour every 5 minutes- and that's it.

Many communities around the internet are fighting to earn some representation on r/place, and it's time to see how far Wynn can get!

The r/place event lasts until April 4th, the end of the day at midnight ET. The goal is to have the Wynn logo appear fully at some point by then, or mostly recognizable at the end of the event.

The plan is as follows:

or, to be more simple, we'll be trying to work our way up from the bottom, for which the bottom-most middle black pixel will be at 242,626. Good luck!

we are finishing what we started, last time this existed we tried to do it and we got ran off
so this time we’re maintaining it

 

I don't see this happening anytime soon. We are too little people to out-compete everyone and keep such an intricate logo intact, let alone even start making it

I tried to do the math on this. The image contains 619 coloured pixels (I'm assuming we're not placing down the white ones). Every user may place one pixel every five minutes, so for one person it'd take 3095 minutes, or about 51,5 hours. Even with twenty people, that's 2,5 hours of non-stop pixel placing for each participant, but it'll likely take twice or even three times as long, as we must account for errors and maintenance. It would probably be a little easier if the Wynncraft logo were not to try to rudely interrupt the Belgian flag.

no I think some peeps from the Hermitcraft community are gonna make the faces of the people from there. if we're to put any sort of dent, it's gotta be something small and in a pretty quiet place of the canvas

At the time of posting, there was more than enough room for the entire Wynn logo and there was even pretty much nothing in that space other than some random few pixels- unfortunately, it seems that the entire canvas has grown entirely filled in everywhere, and we're going to have to settle for something MUCH smaller, and even then it might be very difficult to get anything in. Either way, here are some updates:

This is a very small logo that's actually been built and somewhat kept up at roughly 200,975 (exact is 196,972 top left -206,982 bottom right), which is probably the only thing small enough to be sustained- though there have been threats on the reddit that this will be overtaken, so I'm not sure how long it'll last.


There's also a separate plan for the larger icon we were initially trying to place, but I'm not quite sure what the new coordinates are going to be yet- I'll try to update the original post once there's something actually forming.

Oh yeah I see it, under Daft Punk and to the right of sus Jerma. For something larger, could 1899, 35 work? It's just messy dark orange atm
