    I just love thinking about whenever we do quests or talk to any npc's around wynncraft we don't say anything. They just infer about what we think and see us there just crouching in response to their messages.

    Also, which is your favorite character (npc)?

    This is why I have mixed feelings about the new dialogue options in the festivals, it doesn't fit our character.

    > harasses random human soldier you've never met before
    > human soldier casually agrees to go with you
    > survives boat crash with zero injuries
    > does not realise you're on a mythical island
    > grabs treasure without telling human
    > enters dark dimension without telling human
    > casually walks around dark dimension while beating the shit out of every mysterious, eldritch creature in sight with nothing but bare hands
    > exits dimension like nothing happened
    > proceeds to swim across the entire fucking ocean from wynn to gavel
    > builds another boat immedietly
    > is ready to go on another adventure
    > all that while singing random, nonsensical rhymes

    absolute gigachad of an NPC

    I mean the questions dont have much of a personality and still leaves the character blank in a way. Just basic questions and statements like. How are you? How is troms? What did you do?

    Well, in a way, those questions hint at the player at least showing some signs of empathy or consideration for others, which may be important to keep note of if the player's identity is ever expanded upon in future quests.

    As it is now though, I think the dialogue options are really cool and I always assumed that the player was able to communicate to NPCs.

    i! agree. also i cant say i picked any direct personality traits for the player beyond Obviously having emotions, maybe a very general sense for them too but i still think they're very neat and think about it sometimes

    like disgust in Forbidden Prison interacting w/the storage closet meat which, idk how else you'd react to that, maybe a few "dont look at me like that" lines from npcs
    ...first reaction of threatening people for answers (Fountain of Youth, Cowfusion)

    if i did had to guess any flat out traits for the player though, i'd probably say impulsive lol

    and then to answer OP's thread, i dont have a favourite but i definitely have high likings for AJB gang and maxie just bc they're neat

    I think I indeed didn't say this correctly. They are not necessarily unfitting, but they change the previous perspective we had on our character.
    The guard of the well in Bremminglar implied that we do not say anything at all when we have to tell him the password in Lava Springs. Or we may not even be able to speak at all! Recover the Past increases this feeling of an "empty" character. I kinda liked this, since it fits really well with our behaviour of mindlessly doing what we're asked. I also thinks it's funny and original. The dialogue options confirm that we can actually speak and thus defeat the possibility of us being a soulless killing machine. :(
    I also like how we can fill in our dialogue ourself, since it was never written down. Because of this we can easier create our own character instead of just following the actions of some other person. The dialogue options take this away a bit, since we have only so much options to choose from.

    Don't get me wrong, I really like the new opportunities the dialogue options give! It's just that it sometimes feel like they bring a few minor drawbacks/changes to the character. I'm curious to see what the devs will do with it in the future.

    And to answer OP's question. I don't really have a favourite (like with anything). However I really like Enzan, the seaskipper and Theorick. I've also played only half of the quests so far, so I don't know yet most NPCs that are others favourite.

    i think w/a bit of thinking u can make the player as soulless, or mute as u wanted (to a certain extent)
    idk. maybe everyone just knows how to understand sign language, or if u really wanted to - could jusr take away the idea the dialogue isnt really out of consideration or anything and could just be an act to keep up (or find info to use against people even) /lh

    but ig personally i'd be interested in either or scenarios, both are pretty neat
    but i think i enjoy the hints to the player having even a little bit of humanity. makes some of the things they've done a lot funnier knowing they actually can think for themselves

    I didn't think about it in that way! Maybe the player can think for itself, but just doesn't do it most of the time lol
