Is avalauche better than dune beast jaw?

I'm at level 47 and saw most people recommending avalauche. But there's some helmets gives more health.
Avalaunche provides 225 health while dune jaw beast provides 400 health. Should I still use avalauche? Am I wrong to judge an armor by its health?
