tl;dw: removal itself isn't horrible, but it being silent and out of nowhere really sucks doesn't it

 

For me the issue is less so the shadow updates (is still an issue but has already been discussed at length and it is commonly agreed upon that a better running log would be best, although this has been tailored to the classic "noted, but not a priority") but that special stacking has been grossly overpowered for years now with very little concern for how it impacted gameplay and balance (and in the few times it has been addressed by a CT member or two, it was unclear when it would actually be fixed or altered if at all) until recently when a select few guild leaders had finally complained about it directly to staff such as HeyZeer0 of whom promptly removed Sorcery recasting specials in just a day or two.

Seriously? Really makes you wonder how valuable the feedback of the average player, or even community at large (I believe it's safe to say the majority opinion was that special recasts were far too strong) is, or even a bias for the guild community in general. And if this change was in the works for a long time, then that sure wasn't made remotely clear.

 

Strongly agree with all of saya and nip_nop’s points. It would’ve been nice if we at least got a comment on the item thread about this, even if this was a hotfix.

the whole guild leaders thing seems especially frustrating, as it makes it feel like only a small set of players are being listened to. I’ve heard of this guild leaders discord but I have zero clue how to even visit it. For all I and the average player knows, they are a literal shadow organization controlling Wynn behind the scenes. Im glad they considered feedback, but I really wish the whole playerbase would be communicated to about this.

 

as someone who is in said guild discord

it is quite silly how this change was based on a tiny amount of feedback by maybe 3-4 people in the guild community about how this affected wars and then got patched without any discussion with the rest of the guild people or thoughts about how it would impact the main game

whatever information was told to zeer0 was also not entirely accurate in terms of dps (at least from what I've seen)

....and the solution to this issue in terms of warring is also incredibly simple and not something that fucked up a ton of builds
it absolutely needed a fix. this was a frankly idiotic way to solve it

Silent nerf without a changelog. Such a classic move from the devs

 

wynncraft when it removes all glass from the game because glass is transparent and there is no transparency allowed in wynncraft

 

they already removed glass by introducing raids/wars
now to remove the minecraft block

 

Wynncraft when they give everyone 400k ehp because they don’t want anyone to be glassy since glass is transparent

 

its incredibly funny when the small subset of players has 0 clue what theyre talking about. the person who brought this to zeers attention claimed 1-2 mil dps per person (not true), and also used a combat dummy to test dps, which isnt accurate to war dps.
