I did another ludicrous thing... Only this time it didn't work out

Hello, it's your local madlad again. I tried something, something extremely difficult and probably not very smart. But that's the reason I'm the one to do it.

What I did, was expand on a idea I got from watching one of the "Wynncraft Pacifist Run" videos (can't remember the YouTuber's name atm.)

The basic idea was this: that as a bonus source of xp, you could do Gathering miniquests to help level up basically indefinitly. What I got out of that is "You could probably get a whole lot of levels if you did the highest level gathering quest at level 1"

Well, I did that.

I chose Farming because of its peaceful gathering locations (Plus a free first 40 levels from Durum Isles.) Hands down, the worst levels were level 50-70 because I had to somehow kite mobs away from me on a horse while I gathered. Otherwise it was pretty smooth.

Now we get to the whole "failed" part...

You see, somehow, the game didn't appreciate the fact that I was 97 levels under what I was supposed to be completeing the post at. Someone did the math and I should have recieved in excess of 40 levels from the first 515,000 XP awarded from the level 98 post. Unfortunately, after both doing the level 98 post and the level 91 post for 217,000 XP just to make sure, I was at a whopping level 3. Not 30, just 3 (Yes, I have already submitted a bug report)

I was in a party so the screenshots aren't as clean as I'd like, but here they are


This took a total of about 9 hours to do and around 14le for Gathering XP scrolls (thanks for the idea Travis)



Thanks for all those people who threw bombs! You helped me accomplish absolutely nothing!!

(Got 110 XP from the first quest (100% of level 1) and I'm guessing 100% of level 2 from the 2nd one as well)

I tested that a year ago and it was pretty disappointing to find out
a) you dont get the combat levels
b) farming gets you only to lvl 90 since you can't get in corkus as a lvl 1

You actually can, as I've done it several times now.

You can walk directly into Corkus city unhindered from the dock. The only hard part was getting to the 98 post seeing that it's near Avo territory. Fortunately, you just have to climb a mountain with a horse to get up there

 

XP probably scales like ToA and Qira Hive.

 

Probably not. My guess is it just caps at 100% of a level, seeing as I was granted a measly 110 xp which is exactly 100% of level 1. Level 2 from the second post was also 100% of level 2

 

It does, if i recall correctly it will give max 2 levels. per quest

 

in fact neither qira/toa not gathering posts actually "scale" you can simply get one level up from finishing a Quest at once which is intended as far as I know which makes sense since it both has been a thing for a long time while being known to the team and it also kind of breaking game mechanics due to to fast level ups. That being said that scenario was to be expected and it's 100% on you for still trying while this is a known thing. The Bug report will probably lead to nothing aswell since as stated above it's known by the team and intended as far as I know.

 

I know you're probably right for the most part, but I didn't like your tone so here's 2 screenshots of getting over a single level from a bug with Arachnids Ascent (which has since been patched)
(First was me leveling, second was my brother who was in a call with me)

 

I'm sorry for my tone but I do think that trying it wasn't realy the smartest move to invest so much time into it since the result was very predictable. Besides that I'm not sure what a screenshot of a bug is supposed to proof. This just proofs that you knew of the xp cap feature and still decided to spend so much time on something you knew wasn't gonna work.
