Art Rewind

So to give a bit of context, back when Gavel released in late 2015, assassin received a major nerf. Or rather, there was simply a lot of outcry over the adjustments to its busted Multihit pre-Gavel.

Assassin was still my favorite class despite all that, so I set out to clear Qira with what was deemed the most heavily nerfed class (using another broken mechanic, spell damage).

And since then, that solo kill and Rewind have been stuck in the back of my head.



So here is to my 2016 assassin who spammed spin attack :) Cheers to anyone who is still active on Wynn from then.

I actually was an assassin pre gavel so I know how multiunit was like arrow storm were it glitched and did more hits than it should if you added a sharpness powder to your weapon, but with gavel, all that changed.

It'd be really cool if you did that same female character doing a spin attack while facing a huge creature, whether a dragon, ogre, surrounded by cute little mobs. Like a full war scene. Could also be interesting if you did an archer scene with arrows flying everywhere.

Anyway, its good to see your art again, so I thought I'd suggest some ideas!

 

I like the change! It looks even more ominous without the white outline.

And assassin was something else pre-gavel haha. Remember chaining multihit and life steal together? It was a feature, not a bug haha

I have thought about making more dynamic scenes with my art. Anatomy has not been my strong suit, and I kind of ditched it over all these years in favor of practicing color, values, and portrait anatomy. Still a lot to work on when it comes to art. But you did give me some ideas to draw a more scenic piece. Sketched ToA up during a break today.

I am honestly surprised at how many names I recognize still active on Wynn. Do you still play ingame or are you active moreso for the community these days?

 

Its funny you picked TOA since yeah life steal worked really fun when toa released. Enemies would just go flying with your multihit though you could get 1 hit by some bosses if not careful.

that's looking pretty good so far. The orange light reflecting on the rocks is nice. You should def add on top of TOA the purple meteor (telescope secret discovery). Could also be super interesting if you mimicked most wynn art were all 4 classes are depicted looking at the horizon. Well 5 now, with Shaman.

I still play in-game and I lead my own guild, Farplane. I also like making logos/branding for projects people in the community make like Corkus.py or Ambrosia.
