The Hunger Of Gerts Pt 2 Bug?!

    Alright, so I attempted to do the Hunger of Gerts pt 2 quest and found a possible bug, I don't know if i'm doing something wrong tho. Im trying to get into the cave underneath Jitak's house where you talk to the Gerten Excavator with my Gert Mask on. However an error message saying "The gert at the end of this tunnel doesn't look to friendly" and teleports me out of the tunnel. What am I missing?

    it's not explained very well in the game, but you have to walk towards jitak until you get dialogue about the iron golem not letting you through. you can't go under the house and continue the quest until you do that
