Hi everyone!


Another month has passed, which means it's time for another CT thread!

We are slowly, but surely, approaching the release of 1.21, but we're still not ready to reveal the overall theme for the update just yet.

So you all will have to do with some out of context pictures, like this one:

Keep in mind, we're still working on the update, so things you see here may change.

Now, let's get started!


A massive rework of Thesead! It's basically unrecognizable!



Here you see just four of the many new different Guild arenas we'll be adding in the 1.21 update.



Lots of reworked Corkus caves!​

Profession changes!

We wanted to touch on some of the changes coming to gathering professions in 1.21, targeting level 80 and above. While these changes aren’t mechanical in nature and don’t encompass massive reworks, we hope they’ll make an improvement in removing some of the issues we’ve internally identified with late-game gathering professions.

Every gathering spot (except woodcutting) above level 80 is being changed to fit into one of three categories:


Category 1: Resource gathering
This first category is for bulk collection. Bulk collection means gathering large amounts of resources, without necessarily wanting to level up. These spots aren’t loopable but contain huge node counts.​

A new Molten Eel resource gathering spot in the depths of Molten Heights.​

Category 2: Grinding
The second category is for raw XP grinding. These spots are loopable and contain smaller, but still sizable, node counts.

A revamped spot for grinding Bass.​

Category 3: Decoration
The last category is purely for decoration purposes. It's not loopable and only contains a few nodes to look nice.

The category changes come alongside some other changes to all gathering spots in the level 80+ range:

• Improved walkability
• Reduced eye strain at every gathering spot
• Build changes to make them more accessible from the open world
• Removed/lowered mob density

new thesead looks absolutely gorgeous but i'm not sure i'm keen on all the vibrant colors and while it looks pretty it doesn't seem like it fits very thematically as thesead is a mining town

Amazing changes for gathering and beautiful reworks!

 

Old Thesead definitely had it's charm, but just from that screenshot new Thesead looks like it'll be one of the coolest-looking towns, definitely looking forward to exploring it one day.

I think it looks amazing!

One thing that does trip me a bit is that you guys reworked Thesead and not Kandon-Beda. I feel the way the new thesead looks matches more the look of a civilization that could have build the Canyon Colossus; however, its Kandon-Beda the city which is above of the Canyon Colossus....

Either way, the new city looks really beautiful and I hope the farms outside thesead are retouched to fit the new aesthetic.

In general, this is a cosmetic update, mostly from what I gathered through the new warring arenas and profession nodes.

Can't wait to see the main theme of 1.21 and I would just like to congratulate the Wynn Team for pulling these updates yearly.
