I don't really log on that much because I completed all of the quests and secret discoveries, professions & the grind to Lv 106 don't really enthrall me as much because its more like meaningless grinding compared to the lore + story in the former, I feel as if I had explored every single inch of Wynncraft at this point, and also school is also a reason. I really only log on just to complete my Guild Objectives.

I've been "addicted" to Wynn before but no more than any other videogame I've gotten invested in. Don't think wynn is any special in that regard aside from technically having a LOT to do before you get burnt out when compared to say, a platformer.

I was addicted many years ago. Now I find it is the opposite; there is a problem with making myself click on the server. So much new stuff (with a lot of it locked behind heavy time investment and emerald barriers) has been added and the game as a whole has been drastically warped. Hope at least one user on here would agree with some of these points:

The things that made me addicted were:
Map exploration - (not even secrets, just roaming the provinces underlevelled for the first time and buying scrolls to newly discovered towns) Obviously, this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I wanted to feel the same about SE, but the map was not as large and far too streamlined to make you feel that you were seeing it for yourself (the quests literally take you across all possible areas). Once they're done with the 8(0)-year project that is Fruma, I look forward to discovering a new realm once again.

Quests (Gavel era - Corkus) - I liked the random quests that had no ties to the lore and were just there for worldbuilding. Were they short and sometimes uninteresting to do for the 5th time? Yes. But the fact that they weren't "Wynncraft but the Entire Bee Movie Plays Every Time an NPC Speaks" made them fast-paced and fun to speedrun back when XP bonus affected quests. Corkus was when they started intertwining lore with quests, but at least those were well-made, even to this day. Long quests like AJB and after are when things went downhill for me.

Lootrunning before Discord - When I got into lootrunning, pretty much no one thought about looting the Sky Islands. I ran there frequently, never finding anything but memorizing a small route of my own while enjoying the filled chests.

Nether - Messing around with my guildmates was fun. The Nether in general was kinda toxic and elitist but what can you do. A shame it never kept up with updates (item changes were always behind and broke builds). A shame it got removed too. Can't forget that one.

The things that make it hard to play again are:
Professions --> Raids - I am not referring to professions as a hobby / time sink. I am referring to the actual applications of profs. From what I see they're a decent business and produce items that are possibly stronger than Mythics for raids. But if those are really the only reasons to do profs (again disregarding doing it for "fun") , then it's not worth hundreds or a thousand hours to me. In terms of raids, you can't exactly survive in NoL / TCC if you don't have 60 CPS / monkeW mythic build, so those are a no-go, personally.

Quest Powercreep - It was funny when we ran around making little splashes in each province. It was cool when we managed to stop WynnExcavation and prove ourselves in the face of Qira. But now the enemies we face seem far too powerful (with most of our quest allies losing / dying to them) while being non-existent (and we'll have to wait years for them to be developed).

Lootrunning - With the release of the latest mythics and the general interest in lootrunning, it has become extremely difficult to find good loot when the possibility of getting sniped or overrun by a non-discord player is real and high. Lootrunning is also a nice way to make money, so you have these optimized players who've paid for the Disco, gotten powerful items like lq / Warp / Moontower, and are able to loot at high speeds (even being able to snipe anyone). Can laymen (me) even get anything out of lootrunning at this point?

I used to play skyblock and alot of people were going around going
"NO DUDE DONT PLAY THE GAME YOULL GET ADDICTED DONT PLAY IT ITS A SCAM"
and then here people are worried about their own mental health and are questioning the game

    how contradictory.

Thing is is that literally every endgame skyblock player has a playtime of like 5k+ hours and iirc there's only like 2 people in Wynn with over 10k
I saw a post a few months ago about this guy who hit 10k and that wasn't even the most, and sb has been out for 2 years

Wynn is addicting in the sense that there's so much to do, Skyblcok is addicting in the sense that it is so grindy that it takes longer to hit Mining 50 in SB than Mining 110 in Wynn
And don't even get me started on dungeons

For me it's more addicting than other games, there are days I just can't stop thinking about Wynn. And I am also strangely addicted to reading forum posts and the wiki.

I played wynn way too much(about 7-8 hours a day, every day during summer) and now I feel like there's nothing to do after doing so much.
