I have seen a handful of old threads regarding the skins, though most of them seemed to get locked without developing much.

For context, I have taken a fancy to the clean shaven Wynn soldier skin (as the narrative of a grunt without supervision let loose on the province is quite appealing to me. It is also a nice and simple medieval skin in general).

This is what I can remember from my reading:
    1. The skins are not in jpeg form and are buried in a lot of numbers.
    2. There does not appear to be any sort of copyright infringement or rule against using them (though I am still a bit wary of this)

As to their location and how to access them, I have no idea. Don't suppose anyone would be able to shed some light?

You used to be able to get any skin you wanted by emptying your skin cache, loading that skin ingame, opening the new file that has appeared in the cache, and opening that file. However, last time I tried, it didn't work anymore. I think they changed something in 1.20 that made it impossible to grab skins like this. I only have like 6 of the skins and the shaven soldier probably isn't one of them.

I might have it in the cache from pre-1.20 but I have so many skins saved on there that it would take me hours to find it

Ah that makes some sense. Though I am afraid I am a gronk when it comes to most technology things, don't suppose you could tell me how I might get there myself to sift through?

    • %appadata% and click on .minecraft (you probably have done this if you've ever tried to install a resource pack, if you haven't I'm not sure how to explain it)
    • Go into "assets"
    • Click "skins"

Thanks, got it. I have a lot of clicking to do it seems. Hopefully I don't run into any other hiccups beyond that

Had a harebrained idea, I shall see if deleting all the skin files and then logging back onto wynncraft will reload the ones I come across.

To my knowledge it never stopped working, though it's worth noting I don't think it works on a few like, functional NPCs - the trade market NPCs and party finder, if I remember correctly. It should work on mobs, heads, most NPCs and merchants, really any player skin that loads ingame should appear in that folder. I distinctly remember trying to get the trade market NPC skins ages ago and not being able to, not sure why.

I tried a few months ago to get the General Skien skin for a remake of it that I wanted to do, and it didn't work. I knew I was doing it right because all NPCs in the hub worked, but every head that loaded ingame didn't work.

I think I came across the party finder, though I might be mistaken.

Anyway, thanks again for the help!
