    my theory on sculk is that it's soul residue which is why it is left behind when mobs are killed near a catalyst

    can he climb though


    i also have to wonder if the warden can be summoned anywhere as long as you:
    • place a sculk catalyst
    • kill mobs near it to grow sculk
    • activate a ton of shriekers

    i imagine having an infinity bow + 1 arrow, some ender pearls, 8 dirt blocks, prot 4 netherite, hotbar of crossbows w/fireworks and wool blocks probably counter the warden pretty easily
    • infinity bow to set off distant sensors to distract the warden similar to snowballs in the trailers
    • ender pearls to easily get away from the warden if it corners you, though ender pearls probably create sound so this would only be a temporary solution
    • dirt blocks to tower away from the warden
    • prot 4 netherite probably allows you to resist like 6-8 hits from the warden
    • hotbar of multishot crossbows loaded with max damage fireworks so if a warden appears you can just open fire and that'll probably be enough to kill it
    • wool blocks to muffle sculk sensors and stop them from activating shreikers/alerting the warden
    Also, I have to wonder if the Deep Dark Cities will make convenient bases. If you were to remove the Sculk Growth that is everywhere, it would be a pretty excellent base. I believe it was confirmed by Kingbdogz that no mobs apart from Wardens will spawn in the Deep dark (wardens now confirmed to only spawn if there is sculk growth and shriekers), so these could end up being like Ocean Monuments (if you drain an ocean monument it makes a pretty good base because no mobs spawn in it no matter how dark) but with the added bonus of not having bats AND that it can accommodate for multiple players considering that it's called a city (then again end cities are single buildings)
