To everyone in this server who happens to read this message, I think I might have a link to the recent hacked accounts.

Both my guild mates, a Recruiter and a Chief, both got their accounts hacked and all the stuff in the guild bank drained. Not only that, all their personal stuff, safe for untradables and HICH classes, were unaffected. I have a feeling that the hacker is either mass selling to a blacksmith with items that don't belong to them, or there is a black market issue going on here.

They both had several things in common, like using WIM and Wynntills, but the most prominent one is that their accounts were NOT migrated. I tried to question several others that went through the same hack, few wanted to forget about this mess. So if you are playing Wynn without a Migrated Account, please do so immediately and enable Two-Factor Authentication.

And to the hacker who took all the stuff in our guild bank... well, I hope you enjoyed all the Catboy Fermented Spits, Catboy Brews, Catboy Taints and Catboy Asscheek Tattoos we had in stock, courtesy of our special Strategist of ILQ.

If anyone finds out who have these items on them, let us know.

Edit : Removed the part where I said WIM2 was the prime suspect. It has been confirmed by the WIM developer and the moderators that this was a simple case of account hacking and nothing to do with mods becoming Trojan Horses.

For that, I apologize. I acted too quickly at the moment because it hit too close to home.

    Hello,

We've investigated these cases and we are almost concluding them, so there is one point that I would like to leave here - these hacks are not WIM or Wynntils related (some of the hacked players don't even use mods). These are normal account hacks that happen every so often, as you guys know accounts sometimes get compromised when the password is or has become weak with time. That's why they were happening in random occasions - they were not a targeted attack. Which is why I do agree with the statement in this thread - migrating your minecraft account is a good idea because when you do you can turn on 2FA to reduce the chances of your account getting hacked.

Reminder: do not use a weak password, do not use the same password for too many things (emails, forums, minecraft, bank accounts and so on), do not share your password with other players, do not use the same password for too long. Please setup secondary safety measures such as 2 factor authentication.

Salted stole the cat boy stuff, he just disguised it to look like a hack. Big brother is watching, and you better fall in line before he steal your catboy apparel

Yeah, that was my bad. Wyntills has been confirmed to be safe and the only one I was unsure of was WIM2. After some investigation, it turns out that it was also safe and this was a simple case of account hacking.
