[theory] The Betweenlands is a sequel to Wynncraft

Before theory I will quickly explain what Betweenlands for those who dont know.

Betweenlands is a minecraft mod which adds a new swamp dimension.
And it has lore, according to which a bunch of druids opened nether portal which turned their dimension into dark and unwelcoming land.

Yes, this thread will try to connect 2 totally different games (their lore actually, but whatever).

So we have our current Wynncraft overworld with Wynn, Gavel and other stuff
This is also time Dern Beast decided to send infect Orphion with Dernic Parasite.
Everything was going downhill since that until player saved Orphion during NoL
As Wynncraft is currently unfinished we can only guess how the story ends, however it’s safe to assume that it will end with player defeating Dern Beast, stopping War of the Realms or something like that.

But what if player didnt exist?
Orphion would probably never get saved. We also have AHC which shows how impactful player is for Wynncraft. With that in mind we can assume that without player corruption and decay would took over whole overworld.


This is where the actual theory starts.
We know about the Nether and we know that somehow portal to it was opened in Wynn.
But what if... it was related to druids from Betweenlands?

Now, here things get interesting.
Here is a timeline of events that happened/would happen without player:

Around 0 AP: Druids want to harness power of the Nether which leads to portal being found in 0 AP.
0 AP: Some druids escape into another overworld, similar to the one we know from vanilla minecraft. Later they go insane and create druid altars.


Many years later Decay and Corruption take over whole Wynncraft overworld because player didnt stop it.

Conclusion: Without player Wynncraft overworld would eventually turn into Betweenlands, a land from your worst nightmares.

And honestly, if we look at Olux Swamp it actually looks quite similar to some of the Betweenlands biomes

And that, my friends, is why I believe that Betwenlands is indeed a sequel to Wynncraft

Spoiler: Corkians made Barrishee

Deep inside the Sludgeon (one of the structures in Betweenlands) there is a secret room with a miniboss called Barrishee. It is the only enemy that is a machine in Betweenlands.

No lie when I saw "Gert's Donut" in Betweenlands I immediately thought of Wynncraft.

 

I mean, they are both cosmic horror games...

If it actually added the Olm as a species I would probably consider it to be a Wynncraft reference too. It's not too far fetched considering there's an item called "Gert's Donut"

also the gert donut is in reference to a texture artist for the mod and not to wynncraft, though the artist's username may reference wynn
