Interestingly I believe this sign is new to the 1.20.2 since there were previously a small set of corrupted spikes there and this cave is in a rock that was added in 1.20.2

 

99% sure its supposed to say "Remember our lesson fools who inherit this place"

Anyways time for lore theorists to have a field day with this one.

Edit: Ok so after going to the coordinates this is in Time Valley, and its near this cave that has a mechanic, it loops. So you will go backward in time when these were constructed, forward (not past the present however) possibly to before the portal was unearthed, and then to a present-ish or the future where this cave gets corrupted. The coords for the cave are at -330, -1302.

 

Possibly an Olmic remnant judging from how the cave below is filled with Olmic technology
