Hello, everyone, and welcome to... a somewhat strange theory, really. It kinda has to go through a lot before getting to the actual theory part, but hey, hopefully that'll be interesting, at least.
Well, to start off, let's take a look at an often overlooked part of the huge lore dump of a quest that is the current A Headless History, its beginning - and more specifically, the new version of Referick. Rather than just being... a guy, Referick is now the biggest conspiracy theorist we know of in the game.

This doesn't seem too important at first, as it's simply used as a device to get us to investigate Dullahan's castle, but it gets fairly interesting once you look more closely at the conspiracy theories that Referick believes. There are 5 in total, 4 mentioned in A Headless History and 1 mentioned in Lazarus Pit. They are, in order of when they're mentioned:
    • Villager Illuminati
    • Wybels are evil
    • "a lord of time's draggin' creatures from other dimensions"
    • "[Dullahan's] devouring peoples' souls and siphoning their energy for himself!"
    • The Lazarus Pit is real (this one might not actually be Referick's theory but it's stated to be likely that it was)
Looking through this list, four of these theories can be explained pretty easily - the Villager Illuminati could be referring either to Wynn or GavelExcavation, we know from the Orange Wybel that those little fluffballs are indeed plotting something, and the quests A Headless History and Lazarus Pit are both dedicated specifically to showing that the last 2 theories, respectively, are both correct.

However, there's no quick explanation for the third theory that comes to mind - the only people or places with powerful time magic that we see are Santa, the Temple of Time, and the Forgery - and unless Santa is kidnapping extradimensional beings, I think it's safe to say it's not anything we've seen... so far. But if Referick is right about everything else, surely he's right about this too?

Well, there is one explanation I can think of for this - the currently unreleased Clock Mystery. There wasn't much in the way of lore for it the first time around, but it did have something that could be referred to as a lord of time, Kronos, and a bunch of other weird creatures that seem like they could've been dragged from other dimensions. Furthermore, it is/was, as far as I know, the only place in the game to have characters/mobs/NPCs that could fit those descriptions. It's also in Gavel, and not too far from Gelibord, so it fits that Referick would somehow know about it.

Meaning, then, that in the new version of the Clock Mystery, Kronos is some sort of being that can be described as a "lord of time" - perhaps extradimensional himself, perhaps just some rune user, and that the other minibosses are creatures that he has captured from other dimensions, likely in order to gain power. I can't really say what this means for the rest of the Mystery's fights and lore without just guessing, but I'm pretty certain of that part, at least, being true.

So, then, why is this important? Uh, it isn't, really, considering this'll all most likely be explained once the new Clock Mystery releases anyways, I just thought it was neat that some of the lore for it has been hiding in a seemingly completely unrelated quest since 1.20's release, hopefully you all will too.

Funny thing is all of the conspiracy theory nutjobs are right about what they say. Referick is as said here, then you have the teacher of the Wybel Lesson in Order of the Grook who also talks about the Wybels being evil and them bringing cosmic rocks home to make their owners insane, and the guy who the Seaskipper mentioned that says that the world was created by a "council" (meta commentary referring to the CT).

Also since Lex said that Kronos isn't a literal god I think he uses the same magic that the Olm do to control time (ergo rune magic), unless as you said he is from another dimension and thus uses another type of magic.

That's related to Dullahan. The bottom left of that image is Dullahan before and after being bitten by the parasite, with the "same person?" and the "still alive?" being theories about Dullahan. The "ELVES = BAD" is saying that Dullahan might be proof that elves are bad. That whole image is a part of the same theory.

Edit: that other image below "ELVES = BAD" could be a picture of the Lazarus Pit

No. That would be Chronos. Kronos (or Cronus) was the leader of Titans and the father of Zeus. Chronos is not a Titan, but the primordial god of time. The two are often confused for each other, but they are most definitely not the same. I don't know if Wynn's version of Kronos was named as such as a mistake or if they just didn't care that much.
