is this meant to happen?

So., I was doing the Misadventure on the sea quest and when I was dropped onto the island i died, normally this wouldn't be an issue but i was playing on my new hardcore account and lost 2 emerald blocks, my weapon and some of my armour. Was I meant to die during that cutscene? I'm just kinda annoyed because i feel like i was not meant to die during it and now need to grind for new gear is all

 

U weren’t supposed to die, that was a glitch

 

did you use a movement spell during the cutscene? if so that probably broke it

 

Did you have an item with jump height active
