What class should I do next: Assassin or Shaman?

Hey, so i'm thinking on starting a new class soon since my first class (Mage) is coming to an end.

I'm thinking on doing shaman or assassin. Shaman seems fun because of the area damage & more challenging experience, and assassin seems like an all round decent class to pick.

Apparently, shaman got nerfed recently so i'm just wondering how much that has affected how good the class is now and the playability of shaman (and how hard it is to max level).


Let me know your thoughts on class recommendations/what to expect if i choose either class.

As for myself, Assassin, because its gameplay is generally more fun imo, it has a higher skill ceiling, and in many cases, Shaman is a class that either absolutely destroys everything or gets clapped instantly.

Still, if you decide to choose Shaman, it's not a bad choice, as it may prove a fun challenge to play now that it's been nerfed and all. CCI was also reworked so there's that too.

I truly think I will choose assassin, but I normally use shaman, and I feel shaman becomes repetitive to play after a while.

 

I’ve played wynncraft for likely far too long, over 2000 hours even. I’ve leveled up a number of classes to anywhere from 101-106 and I can safely say that leveling up a shaman was the most boring thing I’ve ever done in wynncraft, rivaled only by profs. I genuinely didn’t even get past 99 for the longest time. Now granted this was pre-CCI so now it’s probably partly the most boring leveling experience and partly incredibly annoying.

On the other hand assassin is an easy to pick up class who can be anything from braindead spin-vanish spamming or heavy melee to the most mechanically difficult and complex class in the game (regarding endgame at least).

I really like assassin and his leveling pace, would recommend!

 

Shaman got burned into the ground with nerfs and it the most brutally affected by CCI (Crowd Control Immunity). Keep in mind that Shaman has the worst defense out of any class and without Aura being effective, Shaman really doesn't have any means of staying out of trouble or staying alive. Shaman's movement spell almost helps mobs more than it helps you since It pulls you towards your totem where most of your mobs will probably be piled up at.

Assassin/Ninja is better in my opinion since it does not require as much skill as Shaman does. However you will have to get very close to the enemy to be able to deal heavy amounts of damage. Assassin has better defense than Shaman so you will be able to take that risk.
Assassin's movement spell is one of the best in the game, you will propelled wherever you point your crosshair and will turn invisible, Gain Speed, and mobs won't target you. When hitting a mob or using a spell while in Vanish, you do 50% more damage.

Shaman's leveling is extremely fast and very good if you decide to speed run classes. However it is a VERY weak class when you reach endgame and you will struggle to stay alive against even non-boss mobs.

Assassin has a smooth leveling system where you don't miss much of the game but still always have fresh content without a roadblock of grinding. It is an EXTREMELY strong class endgame (especially with mythics) and you will shred through bosses with it,

Overall I would easily say Assassin, and I would also save Shaman for your last play through since the nerfs have basically made Shaman a Hard Mode for wynncraft.

I am speechless that nine people suggested shaman, Thats like asking for a paper straw when you get a plastic one.

 

I have choiced mage as the 1st class, and now I play assassin as the 2nd class.

It's fun because assassin's tactics is far different from mage's one. (Maybe, I'm a little bored with playing mage.)

 

Sometimes mage and shaman can become too repetitive and boring; perhaps assassin or hunter are better because they are more fun, tactical, and less spammy.

 

As an archer main it could be kinda spammy like just stand 50 feet away and storm-bomb-storm-bomb (tho if u get up close to hit the whole arrow storm then that’s kinda different ig)

Assassin from mage is a much bigger change in gameplay than shaman from mage imo. That being said go for assassin and combo things into oblivion all the while actually using health potions!

 

ive used both assassin and shaman for a while(assassin at 105 and shaman at 90) and ive enjoyed using both of them, but im pretty dumb and dont know that much about wynncraft classes and mechanics. Both are a good pick and are very fun to use, but id say assassin is a lot easier to use than shaman since shaman's only real damage spell is aura. Right now, bosses are pretty easy with shaman(at least for me) since i can just use aura and haul for an ez victory, or die instantly.(also flying with shaman is really fun) I dont really remember too much with my assassin since i did most stuff with it like 4 years ago with a heal slave to help me. This post probably didnt help at all but i hope you have fun with whatever class you choose.

get a shaman to grind gear/ings for money, fund an assassin with cool stuff, have more fun
