Wand Gear Skin not Working

I turned on the new wand skin I got on my mage class:

but the wand I currently have looks exactly the same when I hold it and is not a flower wand. Using 1.12.2 and I opened the crate for this on my assassin class. Anyone know how to fix this?
Edit: The flower wand is a spear skin ;-; wat

 

Gear skins (at least for weapons, helmet skins tend to be pretty consistent for me) are pretty finnicky in general, something with equipping and de-quipping your weapon messes with the skin you have on it, but if it's active just try not holding and then hold your weapon, that should refresh it. Or just deactivate and reactivate the skin via the use menu.

 

yea I've tried both of them and relogging but it still didn't work for some reason.

 

I got the same issue.....When I hold my spear, it changes to a flower; however, when I hold my wand it does nothing.
