Community Event Build Competition With Massive Prizes

Greetings Wynncrafter, Profers, Monsters, and Horrible Quest Forum Writers, and Class Suggestion Folks!

I want to open this up because I want to do something new? Probably not, but it's NEW for me! Now I've done tons of giveaways on Wynncraft these past few months and I thought it might be best to let you guys earn it. We'll start with the prizes to see what you can win and then you can see how to win them below!

How do I join? Post your MC name in this thread and letting me know you want to get visited! I'll set up the bracket as people join up and it'll be released before the stream for everyone to see how it's going down.
What theme? Any Theme!

What do I build? Whatever, houses, boats, towers (Not dirt ocel0tgirl), spokey stuff, summer stuff.

How do I win? By fighting your way through the brackets! Hopefully a lot of you fun, great people will join up and we'll set up a bracket and the audience of that stream will vote for the winners of each round and move to a semi-finals and finals. If you want to join just comment on this thread and drop your MC name in there so I know who to visit!

What time? August 28th @ 10:00AM Pacific (This is the starting time for said stream that will cover this, It'll probably take us 10-30 minutes to get everyone in and then get started)

Do I have to be there? Well if you want us to see your build? Yes. You can always just afk and pray Salted doesn't kick you.

Do I have to be active to win? Nope.

Are there any rules? Besides being there? Not really... I can't monitor you 24/7 to make sure you're not cheating at placing blocks lol

is this housing island only or is it a general build contest?

Also, you are more than welcome to change up your build after each round. If something lost you some clout, you can fix it while we're going around to the other people battling off

 

Hey there! As a housing enthusiast, I really enjoy the idea of a housing competition with big prizes!

I will say however, some friends and I think it's an unhealthy way to go about it. As an artist, comparing work 1 on 1 over and over again feels really destructive. At least for me, build/art competitions are fun because it allows people to easily show off their creativity to others, while being able to gain inspiration for their own work. It's okay to have a handful of artists with a much higher technical skill than the others in the competition, but if you're one of those artists and constantly winning subjective battles against others it feels really bad, surprisingly. At least in a community where you're trying to help raise confidence of artists/builders of all skill levels.

It's a unique idea, for sure, and I appreciate the innovation! I just personally don't think it fits well.
Could potentially have an anonymous top 5 vote or something at the end? It might be hard to remember all the plots though. Of course, you're not required to change anything, but I'd just like to point it out.

Just realised you're giving away over $200 worth of ranks, what the heck?

My last giveaway totaled at like $561 approx, before that about the same. Upgraded like five-six people to Champion.

Yeah I get it, 100% the audience's vote isn't saying that one build is objective better than another, just that they subjective like it more. The bracket idea is more hoping for size. If there are like 32 different builds that have to be looked out, it might be difficult to have the top five vote. Just due to the limitation, since I can't do like Hypixel does with their scoring thing since there is no way I can track that many numbers, securing, add them all up and then find the top five without the help of excel which would still take hours. I work 9-10hrs every week day, so I really don't got time to burn on that big of an undertaking.

I guess I could just back to the normal kinda "raffle" giveaway while we totally scrap the build idea and I just play Wynncraft, but I wanted people to feel like they had a chance to EARN IT if they wanted or if they just wanted to show off their builds. After the whole competition, people are welcome to DM me and we can just go look at builds for fun. No problem with that.

tl;dr Get where you're coming from, but time is always moving forward

 

Maybe recruit some other people to help you rate the builds?
