Whats The Difference Between Untradeable Items And Quest Items?

how do I know what to keep and what to throw away? I know some untradeable items (such as yahuyas stained bowl) need to be kept for later quests. but do all of them, I have 2 full e chest pages of items like this.

 

you can get quest items back with /fixquests but that isn't the case for untradables

 

quest items are items you need for future quests that are inherently untradable/undroppable. you can drop them by filling your inventory and having no space to pick it back up after you drop it.

untradable items are items that you can drop, and are obviously untradable. some quests/areas of the map require you to have an untradable item in your inventory to access/progress, but its not the same thing as a quest item

you can also get multiple of an untradable item, but usually only one of a quest item

 

While you can get quest items back with /fixquests, I would warn you that it's not always possible and dropping them may make them unobtainable for you in the future.


As for the difference, as other people have said quest items are items that are eiaes for quests, which you can typically only get one of and cannot be dropped, trader, or otherwise removed from your inventory through normal means.

Untradable items are just items that cannot be traded. Some are quest rewards, dungeon rewards, items used for quests, boss altar rewards, raid rewards or other somewhat special items.
