Should I be balancing my skills better than this?

 

U don’t have to, just use whatever u need to wear ur gear and put the rest on random stuff
Tho I would suggest putting more on intelligence cause -spell cost is great (tho less important if ur going only melee or smth)

 

I usually use one offensive skill, intelligence, and one defensive skill. Of course, if you're doing a melee build you won't need the intel (unless it's a water melee build in which case... why?), but I would warn that dexterity is the least effective skill point; it only marginally increases damage unless you're only doing thunder damage.
