Now that the smoothbrains are gone, I'd like to talk about a theory I had for a while, and that concerns the truth behind Aledar, namely his family tree and his bloodline.

For this, we will have to look at Aledar's actual physical appearance. Namely, his hair. It's orange, right? That means that Aledar is a ginger. However, such a hair color is very rare not only in the real world but in Wynncraft too. In fact, there are only two other NPCs in the game that have, or are implied to have, red hair: Redbeard and Bak'al (there might be others but i'm too lazy to find them so f u).
Now, you might be asking: Redbeard is a ginger? What? And the answer is yes. After all, his name is Redbeard, and he doesn't have that name for no reason. Since it's probably not his own personal name, we can deduce that he did indeed have a red beard (before he died at least, his skeleton/ghost form would obviously not have it). Also, hair dye doesn't exist yet, so we can indeed deduce that Redbeard was a ginger due to his natural red colored beard.

What about Bak'al? Isn't he blonde? I wouldn't say so. His hair is too dark to be considered blonde, and after perusing the Internet a bit and looking at different shades of red hair, I will include him as a ginger, since his hair tends towards orange-brown more than it tends towards yellow. I already said that hair dye doesn't exist yet so this is his natural hair.

Now, let's exclude the Dwarves, which are almost 100% gingers, since they're another species different from Humans and Villagers. So, that means that there are 3 NPCs in the game that are confirmed to be gingers. But isn't three a little too low? After all, according to Wynncraft's wiki, there are 433 NPCs in the game. If we remove the Dwarf NPCs, that's 419 NPCs. After doing some calculation, that means that roughly 0.7% of Wynncraft's NPC population has ginger hair. HOWEVER! This doesn't include the Citizens spread across every city in the game, which we should include for this calculation to be actually accurate. I'll be extremely generous and say that there are canonically 1000 Citizens in every big city (Ragni, Troms, Detlas, Almuj, Corkus City, Selchar, Llevigar, Cinfras, Thesead and Ahmsord); 500 Citizens in the smaller towns (Olux, Gelibord, Eltom, Nesaak, Rymek, Bucie, Aldorei, Nemract) and 100 Citizens in the tiny ones (Kandon-Beda, Efilim, Lexdale, Tempo Town, Lutho, Lusuco, Ternaves, Bremminglar, Pirate Cove, Nodguj&Dujgon). All together, that adds up to 15333 Citizens and NPCs spread across Wynncraft, again, a very low estimate. Let's input that as a percentage again, we get 0.01% of Wynn's population (excluding Rodoroc and Thanos) being gingers.

This however contradicts the rough percentage of the Earth's ginger population in percentage, which is around 1-2%. Therefore, 0.01% is low. Almost too low. As if being a ginger in Wynncraft isn't about getting the lucky genes, but maybe... they are all related.

Think about it. Such a hair color, being so rare and 200x less common than its rarity on Earth... maybe they all share a common parent. And this common parent doesn't even have to be very old. They could be quite recent. In fact, I have a good idea of who this mysterious "common ginger ancestor" could be, the man that ties Aledar, Redbeard, Bak'al, heck maybe even all the Dwarves together. This ancestor is none other than...

Bak'al himself.

Bak'al is easily one of the oldest still standing people in Wynncraft, being as old if not older than the Nether Portal, with the Corruption keeping him immortal. I believe that Bak'al was the first ginger, and has one of the most extended family trees in all of Wynncraft, the Twains paling in comparison.

In fact, there truly is nobody before Bak'al who is alive today that has ginger hair. The Elves? Nope, all blonde. The Doguns? Don't even have hair. The Dragons? Lmao.

Maybe now the Dwarves are relevant again. According to Tomb of the Founders, the Dwarves can live for up to 200 years, but the first ginger dwarf that we know of is General Algard, who appears in the Molten Heights ultimate discovery. And when was he born? 65 AP, after Bak'al was already corrupted (according to the Old Detlas secret discovery, which says that he was already corrupted in 34 AP). All his contemporaries are either brunette or blonde, as we see, again, in the Molten Heights ultimate discovery.

Now we've established a ginger relation between the modern Dwarves (which are most likely ginger descendants of Algard), Aledar and Redbeard, which all tie to Bak'al, the Ginger Progenitor.

There is more, however. I find it likely that Bak'al also had a female partner who was also a ginger, or at least had recessive ginger genes, which we will call the Female Ginger Progenitor (or FGP for short). Why do I find this likely? Because ginger genes themselves are recessive, meaning that dominant genes will always overtake them. For simplicity's sake, let's assume that both Bak'al and the FGP were gingers, therefore all of their alleles (the genetical components) are ginger. This means that 100% of their offspring would be gingers. Now let's also assume that the FGP is a Dwarf, otherwise Algard couldn't exist. (Bak'al probably used the Corruption to surf across the Ocean somehow) Let's also assume that Osseus, Algard's co-General in the Dogun War, was also a ginger and was thus Algard's brother. This means two things: 1. Algard and Osseus are half-dwarf, half-human hybrids and 2. Since ginger genes are recessive, Algard and Osseus must've mated and created 100% Dwarf, 100% ginger offspring.

Now comes what I call the "Brunette Dwarf genocide theory". When Algard and Osseus mated and created Dwarf ginger offspring, those offspring also mated with eachother and with blonde dwarves (Blonde is also recessive), and created a whole new subset of ginger dwarves. Eventually, these ginger dwarves became so big that they started to attack the brunette dwarves, driving almost all of them to extinction and replacing them as the majority of the Dwarven population (this is why most Dwarves are gingers or blonde).

That closes the Dwarf sub-theory: Bak'al and the FGP mated, created Algard and Osseus which are half-human half-Dwarf, Algard and Osseus mated and created the ginger dwarves, the ginger dwarves drove the brunette dwarves to near extinction.


Now let's look at Aledar and Redbeard. Bak'al's incredible mating spree must've created a lot of recessive ginger genes by now, allowing their births to come forth easily.

We already know that Zhight is Redbeard's brother, this is a known fact, but since Zhight is a villager and Redbeard was a human, then...

Oh my God.

That's right: Bak'al created three children of separate races. But if he, a human, were to reproduce with a simple Villager then the result would simply be human-Villager hybrids. That means that Bak'al, in order to create both Villagers AND humans, mated with a human-Villager hybrid: none other than... Ardulf.

Yes! Ardulf is the other father to Aledar, Zhight and Redbeard: two humans and one villager. If we assume that Ardulf is around 50 (his parents being like 70) and that Zhight, Redbeard and Aledar are all 30, then this makes sense. This means that Aledar, Zhight and Redbeard are ALSO distantly related to the ginger dwarves!

Since I dumped a lot of information, let me put this into a family tree to make it easier to comprehend.
(Red: Dwarf
Blue: Human
Green: Villager)


TL;DR: Bak'al, the first ginger, created quite a lot of ginger offspring: Algard and Osseus, which created the ginger dwarves that genocided the brunette dwarves; Zhight, a Villager, Redbeard, and Aledar. Zhight, Redbeard and Aledar are brothers and share the same parents.

frumans have ginger hair, bak'al and redbeard were both from fruma maybe
i know that would logically mean that there would be ginger Wynn citizens and Corkus citizens but maybe it's only really posh frumans or something

Also yeah Redbeard and Bak'al would obviously be from Fruma as they're both humans. Unironically I think gingers are just a really small minority because as I said their genes are recessive so maybe it all started from a few Frumans who evolved it naturally. Didn't necessarily have to be Fruman royalty

I think it would legitimately be an interesting twist if Redbeard was some castaway prince, if Aledar was part of the royal family but banished for some reason, and most interesting of all, if Bak'al was a prince, but when he was corrupted, Fruma became fearful of the corruption and, trying to avoid another such event from happening again, closed off their gates.
Hmm, maybe I'll make a thread on that, it would be an insane plot twist
