honestly a major part of the timesave over raw_fish's previous run stems from the fact that they did it pre-1:20.2, where the boss transition cutscenes were significantly longer (most notably from the boss platform to the actual fight, as well as the phase 2 to 3 transition)

we also didn't really go into this intending to speedrun, a more optimal setup would likely be a full team of alkatraz tierstack with stonewalker like merr was using, but it doesnt change the fact that im pretty happy with the overall execution with what we were given

Awesome! One thing I wonder about is how or if arrow shield strats (that is, popping arrow shields by punching the players with arrow shields active) could be used in this. I've done it in a group and we average like 2-3 min boss times, with insanely fast phase 2 times (to an extent, phase 1 as well)

 

I doubt it tbh, personally you have to give up a lot of damage optimization for survivability because while one could argue that such a strat or build like ETW gets theoretically higher damage, actually putting it into play, especially against such a hard hitting boss, is extremely difficult. I personally could have used warchief for 12k more base melee dps but I chose the extra survivability from crabs. and I think quad stonewalker alkatraz would be higher dps anyways lol, merr was the majority of our dps

 

Colossal Eyes had larger hitbox when the patch came out, that's why the two got simultaneously shredded quickly. Too bad it was rolled back at some point.

 

mage beam is able to reach across and hit all 3 eyes
merr's explosions from explosive impact can hit all 3 eyes

 

insane also left handed gang

 

if you use left hand for anything other than archer or shaman you have sinned

 

if nerf was right handed it wouldve been faster
