Mage Tips?

Hey, so I’d like to play a mage but have never done so before. Is there any recommendations about how I should play? Anything helps, like certain stats I should focus on, gear, buffs, etc. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out!

im assuming you are lvl 1 with mage atm so

first of all, you got heal spell and thats all
and at 11 you get teleport, which also isnt anything offensive
at 21 you get meteor which is your first real damage dealer

so until 21 you just wanna focus on your melee
mage is actually really great at that since it has quite a high melee attack range

when you're 21+ reset your skillpoints with the compass on your hotbar and focus on intelligence

in general try to get some good legendary gear that synergizes with eachother

at 29 you can get adventurer set which is really great and kinda must-have

and at 36 your meteor will fall twice as fast, making it more consistent and useful

As nekotoro said, I'd say intelligence works great for mage. But don't be afraid to play around with the skill points and armour and try to explore. Good luck :)

 

Thanks, that’s quite helpful! I hadn’t even considered waiting until later to swap around my skill points!

And I’m glad to hear I can use the adventurer’s set, as I have some of it just sitting in my bank from another character!
