    Hell yes! Modded would mean smoother gameplay, less serverlags (i think), more tools for the admins and more cool itemskins as baseitems

    While modded wynncraft would be cool, the most impressive thing of wynncraft imo is that all of it is done mod-free.

    It would become less accessible if it did become modded, and I don't like using mods so that's probably a no.

    Besides, the charm of the GM team is that you need very little programming knowledge, as they teach the GM team their own simple, special programming language. Using mods would mean the GMS would now have to learn Java coding, which would mean less members on the Content Team

    no the whole reason wynn is cool in the first place is because it isn't modded lol

    I mean, 1. is Java hard? and 2. you could always just implement the special language as a package or whatever you call it inside of Java.

    All it would do is shrink the player base and kinda ruin the point. If you make something like wynncraft in modded minecraft just make a completely new game instead.

    I don't really see any point, aside from being able to install performance mods most things that could be done with mods already can be done with plugins + resource pack. The only reason why we don't have every mob have it's own custom animated model like orphion does is because of concerns about resource pack intensity (and I guess time constraints and lack of enough modelers). If they are worried about a resource pack being too much, there is no way a full mod is happening. Besides, most things a mod would add are clientside, so in theory there could be an optional official mod with these models?

    However, since the question is would I still play, not would I want it to go modded, I'm answering yes.

    1 Mostly no 2 yeah, that's exactly what has already been done, although it wouldn't be a package, but rather its own scripting language

    I would still play, but there are enough issues with mods that I don't think it should happen

    i wouldnt mind but there really is no point, as wynncraft is fine as it is and as others have mentioned, playerbase will shrink

    Only seen singular lines of code that were mostly censored in the build chat thread, but it looks a lot like java except it seems to have it's own syntax and uses vanilla commands a lot, rather than the spigot or bukkit syntax. Also it doesn't seem to be full on object oriented? Hard to tell if player is an object or a command executor from vanilla commands.

    I mean, that could just very well be java.

    player.execute("fill minecraft:air 0 replace minecraft:structure_block 0")

    Could be a part of:

    public class Main {
    public void execute(string action) {
    // parsing and do stuff with the "action" variable idk
    }

    Main player = new Main()

    player.execute("fill minecraft:air 0 replace minecraft:structure_block 0")
    }

    The syntax is probably incorrect
    I don't really know, as I don't know much about Java; I just looked up w3schools Java tutorial lol

    Then again, a lot of programming languages share similar syntax for sake of ease while learning new ones, so it could be a different thing

    Spigot 1.8 syntax is Player#performCommand(String command); So no, this is something wynncraft's devs made.

    And if it's in java they would use Player.getBlockAt(int x,int y,int z).setType(Material type) with some for loops and if statements. Would be better for server performance and reduced console spam and also could be made into a function anyways.

    Yeah I think it's just a method they've written to run an in-game command.
    Also, it has a semicolon at the end so it's probably C-based

    Yes but rules out a few like Python, which would be weird choice for a server anyway
